Ex Sutliff employee

I was the daytime janitor at the office complex. I mopped the room the recipes were stored in…and the bathrooms. Ask me anything.

Were there snuff rails in the bathroom?

Lots of chop lines on the marble counters and tp dispensers. But I don’t think I ever saw tobacco that wasn’t mine

What is the best way to get rid of limescale from the toilet?

Just change the whole pot! :smirk:

Very astute. Yes, the Appalachian region has very hard well water. I find it most productive to fight mineral with mineral. A pumice stone and bit of elbow grease would be my choice.

Sound’s legit. Was this before Jif became Cif?

I love obscure and absurd questions. I now know a common household cleaner in Europe and surrounding islands. If anyone ever asks me for the Cif, I’m better prepared…and they’re getting Lysol.

I didn’t even know that Cif exists in other countries under a different name. Well, I’m more of a Cillit fan though.

WD40 and a bottle of coke (as in beverage).

Heck, just grab a citrus flavored soda, in the States. That stuff is loaded with lubricants and wood alcohols. Young tradies in the US also get caught up in a hazing ritual of my WD-40 in the other guys fountain cup. Liftoff is about the same in both instances.

Biggest turd left by an office employee? Who was the likely culprit?

Did you get free stuff? If so, which was your favorite freebie?

Since when did Sutliff start producing for Mac Baren, all tins of Mac Baren in Canada says it was manufactured by Sutliff.

That’s been a hot minute. Sutliff is a massive company and in the face of EU and UK regulation has acquired quite the market share for anglocentic tobacco holdings. Sutliff doesn’t just sell bulk processed tobacco, backwoods and value pouches at the tobacconist. They are also the main player in international distribution of United States grown and several central American grown tobaccos. They operate under several names but they are the legacy of The Virginia Company. While I prefer C&D I’m pretty sure they’re marketed by a German firm which is a holding of Sutliff.

Canada must really want it’s people smoking cigarettes, judging from production and tariff/duty. Over 85% of Canadian tobacco crops are a fine grade cultivar used in cigarette production. While it’s been over a decade, I remember Canadian cigarettes being a decent smoke. But like you, I prefer a bole to a dart. Does Canada tax incoming “birthday presents”? Say, someone shipped you a birthday card explicitly claiming the tobacco as a gift.

ALL incoming tobacco is subject to duties, our government doesn’t recognize “gifting” tobacco. Not only that if I buy tobacco here and pay the duties and sent it to someone in another province they have to pay their provinces duties on it even though duties have already been paid in another province. Its all a big scam our government makes way more money off tobacco than the tobacco companies do, over 75% of what we pay for tobacco here is tax.

That tin of Mac Baren costs $60 here in the US its $15, so $15 + tax = $60. Thats why I order my pipe tobacco by the pound from the US even if it gets caught by customs its still way cheaper than buying it at the store.

Wow. It sounds very similar to the liquor laws. Isn’t it down to two or three families that are allowed to produce on-sale alcoholic beverages? Meanwhile I can buy a half gallon of Canadian whiskey for $15-30.

Some brewers at work were saying in certain provinces micro-brewing is now sanctioned. But hops, unless packaged as feed, are subject to duty as well. Good thing Vancover and Alberta areas grow hops.

And thanks for sending Scott to my region for winter /s

If Sutliff is producing for Mac Baren is their new Per G. Jenson series just the Mac Baren HH series for half the price, sure seems that way from the product descriptions.
