Everyone ever used Atherthons Wild Mint ??

Just saw this tin for the first time. Honestly, i never ever heard of this brand before. Anyone who can enlight me ??

Well, after some research, i can say that is produced by GN Tobacco which has a snus as main product (OdensSnus). Anyway, some swedish guys producing english-style snuff ? I am curious - that is for sure. Besides this, “Wild Mind” sounds nice to me.

I recall reading that this snuff is “made” by Gajane(Swedish company), but it’s manufactured by a UK company for them. Not sure of the facts though.

It is made by Gawith Hoggarth. They have an identical flavor and identical package.

I see… but none of you had it yet, right ?

I bought the full line of Atherthons from Northerner last year. Yes, they are basically Gawith Hoggarth snuffs rebranded. The packaging and logos are similar and the snuffs are identical. Unfortunatley they suffer drying out as they use the GH ‘sneeze box’ for packaging.

Reading this thread motivated me to dig out a GH wild mint that I bought about two years ago. Haha, I sneezed like crazy and now my nose is running. I can handle scotches and toasts all day but not this stuff…

Best to get the GW Wild Mint from SnuffStore UK, Tim orders small quantities. Then put the sneeze box in a zip-lock bag.

Better yet, buy a small pot of it from Mr. Snuff in a spin top tub!

@ cstokes, Yes. But that isn’t the way to go, if you never had it. The guy may not like it - LOL!

Its less than a dollar (US) more for the mini-tub. If you don’t like it, you’re only out a few pennies. The sneeze box is just not worth it.

I tried a tap-box of GH Wild Mint. It was alright, even though dried out. I imagine it would be quite enjoyable out of the 25g tub. I’ll have to order one of those sometime. Basically, the flavoring is a blend of spearmint and peppermint. The tobacco didn’t seem particularly notable, but that could be due to the age and aridity of my sample.

I agree with miamimark. His take on sneezbox aged GH is the same as mine. I’m just having a sniff of some of their SP from a tub - certainly up there with the very best of this type. A great take on SP, dry sharp and refreshing. Their Kendall Brown is also definitive for me (SG KB is great, but GHKB is the thing itself for me). I just tried some GH Strawberry I picked up in a local shop weeks ago (Idon’t know how long it had sat on their shelves). See Miamimark’s comments for my similar reaction. It’s because I like their product so much that I’m prepared to labour the point here (as others have done before). I will happily buy their tubs, knowing it’s a thoroughly good product. It’s sad to think that other’s might judge this producer on tap box experience alone.

Yes, its only because we love them that we are critical of tap boxes/sneeze boxes. We hate seeing them shooting themselves in the foot.

I know when all we could get were the tapboxes everyone thought GH was meant to be dry as dust. It was a dark time indeed.
