Hi, anybody any recommendations for ordering snuff online within the EU?
Someone kindly told me Mr. Snuff ships from Isle of Man but the problem is that’s still within the UK customs zone so I’ll get nailed by (Irish) Revenue for ordering from there.
My understanding is there’s no tobacco duty on smokeless tobacco in Ireland so ordering within the EU should be fairly straightforward tax wise.
NB: I did post a similar question for Irish snuffers in case there’s something in Ireland itself so please don’t feel you have to respond to both questions. This one is EU-wide focused. Thanks
It’s technically a dependency of, not a constituent part of, the UK. But for international relations it’s treated as though it is. A bit convoluted but essentially laws made by Westminster don’t apply there but Revenue in other countries will treat it like it’s the UK for tax purposes.
Domestically, it’s something of a tax haven. Which is why some companies base themselves there. But it isn’t and never has been part of the EU customs union. So, for practical purposes, for me at least, they may as well be based in London.
You could try putting in a small order with Mr Snuff or Toque and seeing what happens. I really don’t know how the IoM gets treated by non-UK authorities. Perhaps someone at one of those companies would know.
The only English language snuff seller in the EU that I know is Rosinki rosinski webshop - rosinski webshop but like Bernard he’ll probably be closing shop later this year beause of new EU rules. Bernard has already stopped selling to the public and may well close too. There are other online sellers in Poland and Czechia but I’ve never used them. They’re mentioned in posts here.
Here in Italy it’s impossible to buy any snuff from outside the country because of customs rules. They should block the order when entering the country .
Now the stop is mandatory even for tiny mailers due to taxation. Snuff parcel might slip through ONLY if vendor fakes the declaration and lists contents as something else. Some tobacco product vendors were sticking to such shady practices even before July 2021, when the new taxation rules have come into power in the EU.
Italian snuffers are privilleged having local access to rather affordable additives-free cigars, including locally made Toscano, and additives-free rolling tobaccos like Pueblo and American Spirit, which can be easily turned to snuff and snus.
