So I got this cool bottle from an antique shop and I want to put some aged Agarwood oil in it (GOOD stuff so it need an appropriate bottle amiright?). I gave a little test spot before washing it and a bit of the paint flaked off and I was like “of course dumb ass- the paint is in the inside ”. Anyway, long story short a good chuck of time on google brought me here- I now know it’s a snuff bottle that’s reverse painted. Leading me to ask;

***CAN I PUT ESSENTIAL OIL IN IT WITHOUT MESSING UP THE PAINT. IF NOT, CAN I PUT JUST ENOUGH _inset suggested sealer AND SWIRL AROUND TO PRESERVE PAINT? ***

Cheers! Thanks!

According to the picture, this should be a type of internally painted snuff bottle.This type of container is usually treated as a handicraft here.It is not recommended to use it to hold snuff or oil, as the paint inside will really peel off.
