Starcraft 2 - $20 Diablo 3 - $40 If you don’t own these, you really owe it to yourself. I finished the bulk of my Christmas shopping last night =D
Do you have to order them direct or something? I want the Diablo…
Yeah. You have to order them off the Bliz website. I ordered 3 copies of SC2 (Shopping done!) and it was the same price for a physical copy as it was for a digital version. Overnight shipping was only $5 more. I ordered late on Wed and it showed up today.
Cool, I might get in on that, I saw diablo 2 is going for $10, sounds good, or does one really need to buy expansion packs and stuff? I’m a fairly noobish guy when it comes to PC gaming, so I have much to learn…
The expansion for D2 is massive. It only adds one act to the original 4, but it’s a really long one, so it’s a lot of fun to play. The story of D2 leads straight into the D3 story, so it’s a great place to start. The skill system is kind of frustrating compared to the way they do it in 3, but it was improved greatly over the years, and it’s still really fun to play.
Sounds good. I’m curious what the internet connection does for the game. It doesn’t sound like a mmorpg so far from what I hear.
For both Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 there is a mandatory internet connection. For SC2 the best I can figure out is that it’s purely for anti-piracy. Diablo 3 is a different story. Diablo 3 is also for anti-piracy, but it’s also to stop exploits since there is an online auction house. Actually, there are two. An in-game gold auction house, and a real money auction house. If people were duplicating items (as was rampant in Diablo 2), and screwing each other on deals (also rampant in Diablo 2), the auction house system would be pointless. Now it’s one of the best features of the game. It used to be really hard to find equipment upgrades, or to be able to trade for them in any kind of safe environment. Now you can just buy/sell on the auction house with no foul play. You don’t have to play games with others (solo is my thing), but it’s always available if you want it. There is no monthly fee beyond your own internet connection for either game, so it’s not another one that slowly bleeds you to death. I don’t even want to know what WoW has cost me over the years.
Dogwalla that explination makes so much sense. You just completeily changed my opinion of their mandatory connection. Seriousily.
Thank’s for the clarification Dogwalla!
