Does anyone know or have an idea on how much a Bernard type tap box weighs when empty? Or can you pop it apart without breaking it and put it back together ? I was curious how much I might have left in a few of those tap boxes

D

As far as the weight goes, it should weigh about double of half its empty weight. I have no idea about the other stuff.

You can pull them apart and put them back together. The two sides snap together.

Weight with label intact empty =13.2 grams. Easy way to pop off Bernard tap box . With the printed side up ,Tap box closed. Stick your thumb nail or a butter knife just behind the slide door mechanism push down and continue around to lift the top off. Others with the rubber ends like [red bull] start at the hole, open the tap box, push down with nail or knife and pry bottom off while holding top in place, work your way around then lift top off. Preform these operations over a sheet of paper large enough to catch any mishaps . Best of luck To reassemble start at the sliding mechanism , angled approach then press in place.

It weighs 0.4 ounces according to my postage scale which equates to 11.34 grams. This brand has no label. Anyway, yes follow basement_shaman’s instructions for disassemly. I always do this with every tap box. Every time (with German snuffs) there is something left. Often suprising amounts.

yes there is always something left that doesnt tap out. Not only that I tend to use a spoon on these ones so It’s easier to transfer to another container.
