Elusive Swisher Snuffs?

I was just checking Swisher’s website. They list a few snuffs that I have never heard of. They are “Lady’s Choice” and “High Toast.” Has anyone ever heard of them?

Yeah, I’ve heard of them and looked for them. Tom at Nicotinerush has done a good job at narrowing down that list. The one I’d like to see still is the High Toast. Tom?

There was a very similar thread about this very subject, back in 2007. Back then, everyone was looking for stuff like Checkerberry, Strawberry, Three Thistles, etc. Maybe in another 2 years we will find the Lady’s Choice and High Toast.

Sorry guys. I contacted Swisher and was told those are no longer made. Just didn’t sell. Tom

Perhaps we can somehow survive without having tried Lady’s Choice…lol.

I can survive without having tried those two…BUT, if Ladies Choice was still available, I would have bought it just because of the name! It’s a *girl power* thang…

That’s too bad, Tom. That is a fear that I have for all of the US snuffs.

@ zzedo310 - Godammit! I’d’ve loved to have had a tub of snuff called Ladies’ Choice, even if it was horrible! Well, if Spanish Jewel can be resurrected…

Didn’t someone say that Lady’s Choice was the same as Society, just with different labeling for different areas? Keep your eyes peeled folks. Some old stuff may still be sitting on the shelves some old shops. Also, don’t forget ebay! Maybe someone will even find the mystical Bran-dee Snuff.

I think that’s from the old thread. And I believe that they were just speculating, but it very well could be true. Bran-dee snuff? Never heard of it.

Here is a shareholder’s packet from the Culbro company circa 1983. Apparently, they bought Helme back in the 80’s. Listed as a moist snuff is Bran-Dee, but it’s no on the Dry Snuff list. There are quite a few brands that are missing from that list.Culbro

I learned of Bran-dee reading past threads. I thought it was a nasal snuff. I think the article was talking about an ebay auction and I think it fetched a good price. Looked about the size of a Wilson’s tin. I’m too lazy to dig for it now, but try a search on this forum for Bran-dee.

@ cstokes4: can’t get your link to work

New link. It’s the first result.Culbro Search

BranDee was a cheap “natural” type dip and damned nasty stuff it was too. Kind of like dipping wet sawdust with battery acid and ammonia added.

Mmmm… sounds… disgusting. So it was a “dip” that was labeled a snuff, like Copenhagen Snuff.

Don’t really know. ask Troutstroker. He was the one who posted it originally. Filek also has it on his list of every snuff.

With so many American dry snuffs made, I would think they must sell, and sell well. People must be buying this stuff, or we wouldn’t have so many, so many names, flavors, and companies making them. It’s almost comparable to the many ciggarette brands. So it seems to me, these cans must be selling, or they wouldn’t be so prevalant, available, and so many types. But other than me, and those here, I don’t know anyone that uses it. Tom502

The word ‘snuff’ just means ground tobacco, not necessarily dictated to just ‘nasal’ tobacco. And I have a can of unopened Bran-Dee. I got it for my collection of old tobacco items. I had another that I opened, it wasn’t powder fine but was ground fine enough that it could have been used in either form. But it was old enough without the greatest seal that it was void of all scent. The reason I wanted it was because I really liked the label. So different than what’s out there. A snifter of brandy surrounded by tobacco leaves, I mean come on, who wouldn’t like that. LOL. I wish Rainbow sweet snuff was still available! LOL

Cool stuff, thanks for posting them, Trout. How does that Rainbow taste? The can is pretty neat, very trippy!
