Everyone alright? I think we have some people in colorado and virginia. I’ve not heard of anyone getting hurt. Strange though to feel the effects all the way here in central PA.
Man, I was driving down a dirt road when it hit, din’t feel a thing, everyone else was freaked out! They felt it!
felt it … tremors in cincinnati … wild.
I was in Virginia, and although I completely missed it, every one was pretty freaked! Cell sites were down all over though.
didn’t hit Ireland this time.
it was odd I was in my apartment second story. And I felt the apartment move ever so slightly. Took a while to find out what was up.
I’m in Northern NJ, and was on the 3rd story of a 3 story building when it happened. We felt the building sway back and forth quite a bit for about a minute. The hanging lights were swaying, but things were not getting thrown from the shelves. It was very noticable, but less than scary where I was. We all went outside and took a 15 minute break, and went back inside to work. Then I had a pinch of Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Original. And it was good. I hope everyone else is alright!
We had one here in England about 18 months ago. Was the weirdest thing I’ve ever gone through, I thought the chimney stack had fallen in. Glad I don’t live in Japan or where the San Andreas fault is. Hope everybody is safe. Stefan
omg!
Felt it here in NJ…wasn’t that bad, kind of a “wtf was that? an earthquake or something?” thing lol…
The 7.1 Vanuatu quake last sunday did raise a tsunami watch but nothing reaching Hawaii.
evidently I slept through the tremors which seems to always happen to me I’m in TN and some people felt it here. I’ve heard of only some bricks falling off of buildings in Washington D.C that’s it as far as damage done, and no one has been killed or hurt as far as I’m aware.
Didn’t feal it here in MO, when was it? New Madrid rumbling again? edm
@bob - the NE just aint what it used to be. Stay dry.
Sure it’s always been like this. Some nasty hurricanes have hit the east coast there have been earthquakes here. We also get torrnados too sometimes nasty ones.
This is why I’m glad I live in England. No hurricanes, tornado’s etc. The odd quake though, we’ve had 2 in the last 10 years which were noticable. We have pretty constant temperatures and rain.Boring as hell really, thankfully. Stefan
Have to disagree Stef. British weather is fascinating and we talk about it all the time. Nobody knows when it will rain or the sun will shine, not like many another country. Almost litterally totally unpredictable. But rarely nasty…
@Peter fair enough I must say it’s the only country that you never know whether to wear a Sou’wester or shorts. You do have to plan for every contingency. Stefan
I’m in VA, like Whalen I was driving up my dirt driveway and missed the big one. But felt the smaller one later that night. It was my first earthquake and it was exciting! No damage 'cause I’m way up north. I can knock that experience off my list though.
Sometimes boring weather is the worst. For example in the places that are used to harsh weather we know how to deal with it and how to prepare. In places where the weather tends towards the more mild both humans and animals are hurt worse when it gets a little more extreme. For example last winter it was worse here then in england but we had far less problem.
