Ok so I’ve been snuffing for a few days no problem but right now I’m getting this feeling in both my ears like I’m flying 40,000 feet up in a plane. My technique is pretty sloppy and I don’t always keep it in my nose but I have no idea if and why this ear pressures are connected to snuff. I’ve smoked only 2 cigs today so I’m enjoying snuff I’m guessing what’s happening is I just snuffed a gram of different snuffs mainly swiss chocolate and blocking my sinus with snuff this causing ear pressure? It’s half way gone and everything else is perfect. No idea that’s why I’m asking

Your ears are connected to your throat, but in such a way that you’d really have to be doing something pretty extreme to get snuff into your ears. See here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eustachian\\_tube for the anatomy involved! However, you could have a middle ear infection, of which there are 101 different causes. If you start getting actual pain, go and see your doctor, but don’t mention the snuff - he may well latch onto it as the obvious cause and miss something else that’s important. Good luck!

Back before I got my technique down I had soreness and pressure in my ears. There is a reason we have “ear, nose and throat” specialists. They are all connected. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that you are getting pressure on your ears from snuff. Work on your technique, hopefully that will cure the issue. Although like Justin said it may be a medical reason totally unrelated to snuff.

It went away on its own and thank you both for the help. Might be unrelated because I’m not snuffing any different than most others. I’m trying to be more careful now but I still think maybe it was a combination of things ( sloppy technique, the fact I’m still a smoker and my already congested nose on a normal day probably all factored in. )

Well It just rebounded back now very disheartening because I didn’t even get any snuff passed my nose today and only did 1 snuff the size of 2 peas so it has no excuse. This is definitely what’s going on http://www.snuffhouse.org/discussion/2774/clogged-eustachian-tubes Tried gargling with salt water and nothing. I know it’s definitely because of the snuff but I don’t know exactly why. The fact that I feel I can quit cigs with this stuff makes me irritated this is happening. There’s no pain at all though just minor clogged feeling

Interesting you brought up continued cig use. Seems my problems went away about the time I finally kicked cigs to the curb. Of course it may be just a coincidence that my technique and nic absorption from snuff and kicking cigs all happened at the same time.

Are you blowing your nose afterwards? This can sometimes cause discomfort due to outward pressure from the insides.

Nope I rarely blow my nose. I think it’s just sloppy technique combined with my smoking with whatever minor factors I’m missing. However it’s much better then before and I’m contributing this to improving my snuffing

On the subject of ears, I developed tinnitus during the time I was vaping (which was about three months, ceased in March) and I still have it now. It might of course be a coincidence. But it might not.

I would have to say coincidence

I hope it is, really.

It would make more sense that tinnitus would be exacerbated by snuffing not by vaping. Even real cigs I’ve never heard of tinnitus from them. Tinnitus can sometimes be from migraines or other neurological stuff . Do you get headaches or can you " feel " your hair? Your ear ringing might be a symptom and not the main problem

This may be completely besides the point but I find using a Neti pot helps with sinus/snuff related problems. I usually use it twice a week. Try it and see.

I have had similar experience. in my case I was using (and enjoying) menthol snuffs. for me, that is a problem. The turbinates in my nose would swell, and thus altered air movement/pressures in nose and throat. Once I stopped menthol, my ear problem stopped. Bummer really because I really liked menthol.
