Was just downtown taking a pinch and got stopped. The cop not knowing what snuff was thought it some form of drug. He called in backup and in searching me found 3 more things full and my pistol which I told him was there his backup showed up and knew but never tasted snuff before and tried my peppermint homemade snuff and really liked it
PS I got the pistol back as well as the snuff
Well, at least it’s a way of spreading the word! I work in a department store, and a few months ago was covering for someone in another town. In my break I went out via the staff exit, and saw the manager of the store standing with a friend of hers, smoking a cigarette. I chatted to her for a while and then took out a tin of F&T, and took a pinch. “Have you just done drugs in front of me?!” she said, looking alarmed. I replied that I had, but it was the same drug as she was smoking, then explained it was snuff. Her friend had heard of snuff, an Ilet them both smell the scent in the tin,but she still looked somewhat dubious. The next day she came over and said"I looked snuff up on Google last night, and you’re right, it is just tobacco…" :))
Uncultured swine, the world is full of the misinformed. The dumbing down has taken hold around the globe. It a sad state of affairs .
I went to the annual Indonesian Pipe Club event last year, I thought it would be a good opportunity to turn some of the brothers on to snuff. At the very least, I thought they, of all people, would be open to the idea of different forms of tobacco. Snuff is pretty much totally unknown here, and most people assume that anything you put up your nose must be an illegal drug. I created a scandal! One of the members, a likeable enough guy, is some sort of senior LE officer. When I did snuff in front of a group of people, he came up and gave me a very hard stare. I smiled and explained it to him, but his gaze didn’t soften. I did get some of the younger members to try it and they liked it, but they kept on asking me “Are you SURE it’s legal? Are you really allowed to import it?” I did finally get the two most senior members to try it. They commented, with some surprise, “Oh, it really IS just tobacco!” Even so, the club remained slightly scandalized.
Shoulda seen the cops eyes when I loaded a round back into the chamber before walking back off it was priceless
I think it would be a ‘normal’ first reaction for someone not familiar with snuff to ‘assume’ you must be taking drugs- more so when using bullets, spoons or the like as they are first associated with drug paraphernalia. I take it from the tone of your post that the police were understanding and took their time to establish that there was no reason for concern. Always a good thing.
It´s a worn out topic that policemen/women are dumb, but I wouldn´t speak so easily about people whose job involves risking their lives permanently. If anyone doesn´t know anything about snuff or, say, insulin, it´s really simple to think in most situations that their doing drugs if you see them inhaling or using a needle.
All policemen/women are stupid. Otherwise they would have taken a proper job that requires skills.
Are you serious? I have relatives that have been police officers. My daughter is going to college for Law & Security after high school to become a police officer. She is far from stupid. I know you fancy yourself as some kind of elite code jockey but to take that sort of superior attitude towards an entire profession is stupid. And you’re the guy accepting new applicants to snuffhouse? Will an I.Q. test now have to be supplied?
@lunecat So all UK policemen/women are stupid. OK, got it. I really doubt that they are all stupid but as I am not in the UK I guess I’ll have to take your word for it. 8-| Just as there are corrupt businessmen and politicians, there are corrupt cops. But to paint the entire police service as stupid and corrupt is just plain wrong. All officers that I have met, and I’ve met quite a few, got into police work to serve the community. Plus it pays well here in Canada, as it should. I have no opinion as to whether or not you should resign. I certainly hope no applicants are declined because of poor spelling or grammar.
cops are all dumb we can give you that one if you’ll take that all I.T. and code people are socially inept and virginal. Since both can be backed up by select parts of each group. Personally I think it’s insane to simplify a group down to the stereotype like that. But I would be willing to accept that stance if you’re willing to accept this one about tech people.

Well, I think its quite wrong to make such generalizations. Lets move on from this now that we all have stated our opinions. Also lets not forget we have members of this forum who are/were police, and most of our forum members show well above average intelligence. Some are even artisan snuff makers
