Make what you will out of this article: So THAT’S why drinking and smoking go hand in hand: Nicotine dampens feel-good chemicals in the brain, making us crave alcohol • People crave nicotine more when they are drinking, and crave alcohol more when they are smoking • Nicotine dampens brain’s response to alcohol - means more alcohol is required to experience the same effect • Nicotine increases body’s levels of stress hormones which reduces the pleasure smokers get from alcohol http://tinyurl.com/mr7m2fh http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2373458/Drinking-smoking-hand-hand-recent-research-suggests-Nicotine-dampens-feel-good-chemicals-brain-making-crave-alcohol.html

It’s true they do, but snuff and beer go together even better.

I don’t let alcohol consume me. But I consume snuff like it is part of me that is missing and needs replacement several times an hour. Just for me; to drink is to die!

I was going to type something else here but just as I was about to begin my idiot neighbor decided to pop off about a dozen fireworks… Oh yeah, that must be true about the nicotine. Years ago I dipped Copenhagen snuff, & enjoyed dips between beers. I was in Germany at the time. Beer, dip, 2 beers, dip, 3 beers, dip, and if lucky, kiss a fraulein or 2 between a beer and a dip. Lovely place that Germany - Frankfurt will always be my home away from home. I bet the Germans were glad to see me go though. I spit all over that place. :))

I am so happy that I do not drink. Thanks AA!
