Wilsons of Sharrow Dr. Rumney’s Grind: Medium Color: Medium Brown Moisture: Medium Snuff-ability: Easy Nicotine: Medium Source: Lil’ Brown Shack; 10gram tin: $3.85 Definitely not the old Illingworth’s Mentholyptus. For one thing, it was fresh. A bright, easy going medicated snuff with a nice balance of menthol and eucalyptus and an underlying layer of aniseed, reminiscent of 1970’s Dean Swift Bezoar Fine Grind or Rumney’s Export. For the money SM Blue and/or SM Gold are better bets. Beginner friendly. Overall rating (1-10): A solid 5
Thanks for this post, I had no idea that WoS did A version of Dr. Rumney’s, I have tried two of the other makes, perhaps this thread might interest you. http://snuffhouse.org/discussion/comment/241270#Comment\_241270
I really like the Rumney’s from Lil Brown. I also have a very old tin of the original seen in photo, almost full, but with no scent whatsoever. I also have a tap box of the same, from Scandanavian tobacco co., made in South Africa. Its more like a German menthol snuff than the WoS version. Its nice, but has none of the complexity of the Wilson’s.
