With the exchange rate becoming more favorable to the dollar, I would expect cheaper prices from UK suppliers. But I have not seen this. Does someone have an explanation for this? I would hate to think I’m being taken advantage of because, as a US buyer, I can not readily obtain my favorite snuff anywhere but the UK.
I know Toque has had a boost from sales due to the exchange rate. Snuff.me.uk sells to some but not all US states I believe, and his prices are also listed in GBP, so there will be an exchange rate benefit there. Other sellers may be working on a cost plus basis, whereby if they bought their stocks before the rates changed, they don’t benefit and still need to turn a profit. One would hope that their prices would drop for you once the stock gets cycled through… though there is no guarantee of that. You would need to ask them directly.
Thanks all for your replies. I think I have this figured out.
