I have trouble falling asleep fairly often and I’ve been wondering if its from snuff. Does anyone else have trouble? If so, how early before bed do you need to lay off of it in order for it not to keep you up?
THE CURE 2 0z of SINGLE MALT 1 hour before bed. Honestly though, I have my last sniff about 1/2 hour b4 bed. I agree, snuff gets the system “up and going”. If it is giving you issues, then I would lay off 2-3 hours before hitting the sack.
I usually take my last snuff about an hour and a half before bed during my nightly shower. I also read a bit before bed and that helps.

I always pinch before bed I find that not having a pinch makes it hard to sleep. Then again nicoteen is a derpresant and stimulant at the same time.
Once, upon taking huge heapings of Lakatia 1860 I had great difficulty falling asleep. I have also gotten very edgy from taking much too much Dholakia snuff which is also very, very strong.
I think a lot depends on the quantity you take & how accustomed your body is to the effects of nicotine. Bespoke Gin & Tonic has a real uplifting effect that does seem to effect people sleep. Personally, snuff really doesn’t have an effect on my sleep as I’m usually pretty tuckered out by the time my head hits the pillow. And I will take a snuff 10-15 minutes before bed to open my nose up good, & blow it out right before I go to bed. And if I’m breathing good, I sleep good. Also, like nightcap mentioned above, I generally have a snort of usually bourbon 1/2 hour to 1 hour before I go to bed.
I use a CPAP machine for severe obstructive apnea. I’ve been snuffing the last several weeks, putting the nasal mask on and cranking the humidity dial. I find I sleep quite well, however there have been several European snus products that have kept me awake when under my lip at bed time.
i snuff when im getting ready for bed, also when i am in bed, never had any problems with getting to sleep even if i snuff right before i close my eyes.

It goes down the hatch fixin2. If I’ve been on a snuff bender all evening, it does keep me awake.
Yeah I would agree with that stitch, If I get a new order in of ‘never before tried’ snuffs, its hard to control yourself sometimes. Next thing you know, you’ve gone through a 1/2 pound of snuff & your wired like an undercover agent.
Bespoke products are the only ones that seem to keep me awake. I like some wilsons honey or cherry menthol at bedtime.
I pinch even when sleeping sometimes I wake up snuff box in hand, ready to pinch again
bb, darn you, I’ve been going to bed thinking about your question and having trouble sleeping. In fact it’s 11pm here now and I can’t sleep (have Dolakia Manjul snuff in now) and wondering if its snuff related. I fear though that its a message board addiction not the snuff though. ;-0
That’s funny Merdock69, I’ve been snuffing before bed now to experiment and seem to be sleeping better. I always thought nicotine was a stimulant and seems to perk me up in the morning, but seems to help me sleep at night. It’s magic!
nicotine is a stimulant as well as a depresant.
all depends how used to it you are, i doubt i could physically take enough to keep me awake
Plus it depends on how much you take at one time and how quickly it absorbs. For example slow absorbtion is more a depressant hence pipe smoking being more of a chill out thing. Faster absorbtion equals more stimulation hence why snuff and cigarettes are good for waking up. Plus the higher the amount of nicotine the higher rate of depressant. So maybe try a bigger pinch before bed.
