Do different types of snuff give you a different feeling?

Just curious if its just me or if anyone feels like this too but I notice that when I take W.E garrett I get this nice nicotine buzz that has somewhat of a calming feeling thats great but when I do F&T HDT I feel the nicotine but its a different feeling it gives me, its somewhat of a jittery feeling after a couple times I use it in a day… I dont get that same kinda calming nicotine buzz as I do with the garrett… I dont know if its just me though … it could be all in my head but its something that ive noticed…

Navy Plain gives me a haimish feeling. I don’t know an English word for it. Sort of secure and familiar like at home.

It seems as though different snuffs release nicotine in their own unique way. Rooster gives ne a gradual buzz, and Dholakia White pretty much sets my head to spinning! Of course, my beloved O&G combines the best of all worlds…

@dlt … wow I gotta try that dholakia white and O&G … the head spinning sounds nice i can handle a big buzz Im just not into anything that has an after effect that makes me feel like I drank way to much coffee , that jittery feeling…

Beginners beware: Dholakia White is politely called an advanced snuff, and informally called freaking brutal.

Oh heck yeah diffrent nicotine uptake systems (being a smart ass) have diffrent effects because nicotine is a strange drug. It’s not only dose dependante but also is strongly effected by uptake rates. Slower nicotine uptakes bring out more of a depresant faster uptake brings out the more stimulating effects. OF course that is just the nicotine. The buzz from tobacco isn’t just nicotine sure thats the primary component in the buzz but nicotine has a lot of other psycho active compounds in it in very small amounts. Diffrent strains and treatments and growing enviroments of course not only effect the nicotine but also the other drugs in tobacco. Of course the amounts of the other drugs are pretty small and minor but they are enough to make subtle diffrences in the main buzz. Tobacco is closely related to nightshade and other plants like that. The really crazy nasty not fun chemicals in nightshade are also the minor chemicals in tobacco just in tiny tiny amounts that don’t do a lot but make the buzz slighly diffrent. Hope that helps.

For a wake up, I like a menthol, strong menthol like delicious Hedges. After that I usually take some rappees and such like Princes (black) and my beloved Grand Cairo (red). Sometimes it is best to take a coarse snuff for nicotine maintenance. Since it is coarse, the nicotine delivery is longer lasting.

I’d think there would also be something to the scent itself that effects the feelings derived. Most of the flower scents give me an almost immediate sensation of calm while the mints, menthols or darker ones such as Best Dark, Ao1860 and such bring on a sense of, hmmmm… alertness or “aliveness”.

Hedges L260 knocks me for 6, swimmy head. Usually need to sit down for a bit. Most others give me a gentle “wafting” feeling, rather relaxing.

@ OTD: there is certainly a huge aromatherapy aspect to snuff. I find the various herbals and florals have different characteristics ranging from invigorating to calming and even intoxicating. A lot of snufftakers don’t care for flowery & perfumy smells but I love them.

I’m one of those who don’t care for the perfumy spectrum Xander. Flowers and spices though are another story altogether. Carnation and Jasmine from WoS cover the aromatherapy end of getting a good nights sleep very well. They go beyond the general relaxation derived from most snuff and cross into the realm of mood enhancement!

Certainly different types of snuff give different feeling and experience: medicated snuffs are great boosters for example.

This solves a mystery that has been bothering me lately. Allways have a nose full of snuff last thing at night. Usually I have a great nights sleep, but lately I get the coffee overdose twitches and have a hell of a job sleeping. Thought it was something I was eating in the evening. Remembered that instead of my usual night time dose of F&T princes, I have been using the nearest snuff. Yes, one of them was Dholakia!

For those new to Dholakia White, I’d suggest mixing it with a favorite snuff. It cuts the burn somewhat, but still delivers a goodly amount of nicotine. I mix it with O&G, which makes a tasty concoction.

great posts everyone , im glad to hear that its not just me who gets a different feeling from different snuffs and at the same time im learning about other types of snuffs i wanna try… @ london jack haha that coffee overdose feeling can be brutal sometimes haha i know the feeling:) but love the snuff

to be honest I like the overall feel of a nice toast or sp. But i get this feeling every now and then for menthol in my snuff not because I like menthol but because it hits harder ( feeling in the nostrils wise ) and it almost sends me this false message that it has more nic or something, its weird. Sometimes I use menthol just to know that somethings there in my nose to help calm cravings.

^ I agree with Grim here totally.
