I received some DK Prins Regent a couple months ago, and have determined it is one of the best snuffs I’ve ever taken. I mean, this snuff can turn any bland evening into a festive holiday. Spicy, complex great tobacco with a good nic hit. I love it. It’s going to be a great Christmas season this year with a little bit of this up my nose regularly.
I agree! That and Macuba are outstanding!
how about a link? I have neither seen nor heard of this wonderful snuff of which you speak.
Yeah that is an awesome snuff. Near perfect to me. Pompadour is great too.
Its not hard to find, snuffegnugen. Most of the online vendors carry it, or you can buy it direct from Jaap. Take a look on the FAQ page under shops.
Nicotine Rush sells it. Not sure of Mr. Snuff. If you are going to order it from the US, Nicotine Rush is the way to go. Mars sells 5g for $1.95, where Nic Rush sells 12.5g for $2.95.
50¢ of that is for the smashbox, which you can resuse!
Yes this one is most definitely a winner, the grind is amazing so good you can feel each individual piece of snuff in your nose. And the nic hit is there too, the Virginia lovely leaf. think the snuffreviews site lists them as molens but Nic Rush labels them as Dutch windmill I think they are my favorite snuff manufacture, if you like this one try Hollandse Bolongaro its similar but less APish? dunno if that makes sense but if not try for yourself. http://www.snuifmolens.nl/pagina%20snuff.htm http://nicotinerush.com/dutch-windmill-snuff-45/
Hello ibook7537 The A/P and Hollandse Bolongaro are different types of snuff. The A/P is our Latakia Ao 1860 favored with P(ine) and spruce (Abies) oil. The Hollandse Bolongaro is a naturally fermented Virginia tobacco based on an original receipe from the eighteenth century. Jaap Bes.
Okay, my bad, I didn’t make the connection when I saw DK. I mean it’s only known as Molens, or Dutch Windmill or Molens de Kralingse. I’ve got a tin of the Macuba and I really like it.
I think he meant SPish regarding the fantastic Prins Regent snuff having a beautiful bouquet of rose/cognac with bergamot. That Virginia tobacco base is spectacular as well. Choco, Chococreme, Pompador ,and Macouba all win with it as well.
I LOVE the A/P, Hollandse Bolongaro and Ao 1860, and now I know where A/P comes from.
Try scenting your Hollandse with Tonka, its fantasitic! I need to get more of that one, I ran out of my sample from Jaap long ago.
DK? Denmark? De Kralingse? :op
De Kralingse. A very good snuff indeed and probably not enjoying quite the exposure it deserves. My single complaint is the container which I don’t think does the snuff any favours in terms of keeping it fresh.
Is this named for an historical Prince Regent? I know many of the English ones were named for George IV both as prince and as king.
Hello Xander, The receipe for this snuff comes from an old booklet with different receipes dating back to 1862 and was started by the original owners of the snuff windmills in Kralingen - Rotterdam and it was named Prins Regent. There are a some more receipes for Prins Regent, all according to different wishes of different tobacconists. So I guess there should be a lot of different types of Prins Regent snuffs all over the world. Jaap Bes.
Thank you, Jaap.
Tobacco, Raisins, Cognac, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Currants maybe? Holy Cow this is complex. It changes as it sits in the nose. This might be my new favorite “treat”. Definately will order some bulk of this. and the Musinotabak also.
