I have ordered 6P Natural a number of times and while I like it each time, it seems to come 3 different ways. one with an almost wet paint smell, one that is a solid brown with good moisture with that distinctly indian smell (my favorite), and a powdery light beige that just smells like generic tobacco, maybe a hint of that certain something. Is it just that it has been in different stages of dried out when they get to me or what? It just strikes me as odd because I ordered a 45g tin and it was the dry powdery one and when I recently got my potluck filled with little 8g canisters they were that nice spicy lighty moist kind. I am so confused.
I’ve noticed variation in all of the natural Indian snuffs I’ve been using for a while. I think it just comes with the territory. It’s actually a feature to me, I’m always excited when I know a new batch of something is in. Can’t wait to try the new D Black, I know it’s new because they were out of 25g tins for a while and just got more.
I havent received a wet paint smell one. I fell in love with 6 photo natural when I ordered a small 8g can. It was dry and fine. I ordered the 45g can next which was the same as the 8g can. I went thru a couple of the 45g’s rather quickly so I ordered the 200g bulk can. It was very moist with that spicy Indian scent. Almost a completely different snuff. At first I was a little disappointed but it grew on me very fast. I’ve ordered two of the 200g cans and they were both the same. In my opinion it is a dried out thing. Bulk is the way to go. I’m currently waiting for it to reappear on mrsnuff so I can get another one.
Thanks guys. I have a monthly snuff budget of only 20-30 bucks, so I guess I just have to bite the bullet and just get the 200g when it comes in. I have bought it before so I suppose it will be worth sacrificing a month of variety lol.
You are right guys,we have made some alterations in the process of making of 6 photo natural. While the earlier batches were somewhat moist, new batches are drier but equally potent with the same tobacco base.
Well I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed, but even still, it is one of my favorite snuffs, along with the rest of the 6 Photo line.
We are open to suggestions, please indicate your preference for the snuff style for 6 photo natural, moist or dry?
I personally prefer it to be more on the moist side. It makes for easier snuffing and brings out that unique scent more.
I like the moist one better as well. The dryer one was good as well but I was able to use more of the moist one.
One of my favorite things about nasal snuff since starting this journey a little over a year ago is the huge variety. Why not just make both kinds?
making available both of them is no problem for us,but will add another headache for David’s staff !
Just make the moist version, if someone wants it dry they can leave the tin open and dry it themselves
i have some of the older moister one. mmmm. i do love it.
isn’t it moistened with oil?
Yes but I can vouch for the old batch still being fully capable of drying out to be like the new batch…and I still want the old batch. Which is why I am reviving this. I need to know how likely I am to get the moister variety because I am going to order in a couple weeks and this will determine if I get the larger can or the 35g .
The 150 g cans and 30 g vacuum tins contain the the dry type, while the 35 g tubs are from the older batch of moist snuffs (most probably) Since I joined this great forum, We have doubled from 7 varieties of snuff to 14.The list seems to be growing by the day. I suppose in future we shall continue with only the moist type of Natural.
That being the case it is worth the gamble knowing it will return to the moist variety! Woohoo! :D/
@sixphoto, so far, I’ve only tried the 6Photo Cheeta, of your range, but I like it and would try other products from your range. But product variability seems to be a big issue with all the Indian snuffs. Not saying you can’t make changes, but remember New Coca-Cola? At the very least, if there are going to be changes, maybe you could include a “batch number” or something like that, just so that people know that what they ordered last time might not be the same as their next order?
@JakartaBoy: Point taken !
Is there any problem with 200gr tubes? I´m expecting one of “Natural” to come to Snuffstore´s stock since august 2013, when I placed an order. I ask periodically about it, and the answer that Andrea can provide is that they are still waiting for it. [-(
