I recently received my first 10g tin of Dholakia White and tried it. I was so impressed that I ordered more immediately the next day. I don´t know why, but all the time before that I thought DW an WE were quite similar but now I realize they are very different. I´m not getting any “fish” out of both but it seems to me that the WE is in some way more warm and wood-like while the DW has a more refreshing note with a hint of indian spices in it. I know, best would be to simply agree on having to own them both in huge quantities but, if there´s a way to compare them, which one would you prefer?

It’s been awhile since I’ve had Dholakia White but I’ve recently finished some White Elephant. Between the two I think I prefer the White Elephant but I would have to get some more DW in order to make a fair assessment. Another white snuff I’ve yet to try is 6 Photo Cheetah which doesn’t get mentioned as much as the other two and apparently has a bit of the exotic incense-like scenting.

Of the two I’ve tested (6P Cheetah and DW) the first is far more incense-y but also less fine in grind and darker in color. The second has quite a finer grind and features a more prominent ammonia note, with some unerlying, difficult to identify smells. It’s also more “salty” and develops a more pungent smell when in the nose. I’m not sure about which one I prefer, but the Cheetah is easier to snuff for me, if a little bit less powerful.

It’s a tough call between the two honestly for me. If I had to pick one is go with White just because it has a nice wake-up burn to it. Damn tough call though!

Funny I just ordered 500 grams with the Jan50 deal. These are quite similar being of the white family. Like burtons and rooster are scotches, and F&T HDT and WoS IHT #22 are toasts. All snuff is different, the White Elephant I reviewed 2010 hits the shit out of 2013/14 batch. I think this is where the confusion is with fishy scents, Mainly Old Reviews! Batches change, Salt supplies change; sometime for the better most of the time not . FUBAR Grunt had many variations; favorited was the first with it’s coconut background. Not so with the second with it’s ashtray and third with the cigarish backgrounds’. SG Black Coffee use to be the best, then the batch changed it was just OK. There are many others but I had derailed this thread enough.

DW for me, WE went straight to the freezer for a later revisit as I found it less tasty/less scent than DW. It`s still in there a year later. I might pull it out soon though…

I go back and forth, one day deciding I like the DW better and then I’ll think the WE is better. They are both unique from all other snuffs including Indian snuffs that I’ve tried, although I’ve not tried other “white” snuffs. I would just say that they’re both great and to order both now and then to keep a constant supply of both, that’s what I do anyway.

I agree pretty much with @MarvinLapsus‌’s profiling, although I go back and forth on which I like better. I think the difference is quite subtle, either would serve. Not so with 6P Cheeta, a different animal, although in the same class. It does have quite a strong dash of incense in, although it’s good if you’re in the mood for it.
