DHOLAKIA SNUFFS

I “see” a lot of new faces on the forum which makes me very happy. The more, the merrier. To all the newcomers I would like to say, do not miss out on the Dholakia snuffs, they are pretty good. I absolutely love the original Dholakias which are Manjul, Ganga, Kamal and the two Sparrows. Your collections won’t be complete without them. Just be careful with the first few pinches. They can blow your head off! But once your nose has accepted these beauties, you will never want to be without them ever.

I need to try a few of these traditional Dholakia snuffs, eventually. My only experience to date with D’snuff is a sample of Apple Pie (terrible), and the Quit w/Snuff Apricot which initially is like mentholated cat urine but morphs into a nice apricot scent that lingers awhile…perhaps it needs to ‘age’ a few months.

I’ve fallen head over heels with the Sparrow Cool.

the manjul ganga kamal are three of the best snuffs ever.

Yes newbies, you should take Pieter Claassen’s advice. In case you don’t know Pieter LOVES SNUFF! So if anyone would know, it would be him. :-} Serioulsly, the Dholakia contract brands and expanded range don’t really compare with the classic ones. They are in their own category.

I agree. This is wonderful snuff. And I love snuff too and loving it more with every new snuff I try. My collection increased with 4 Dholakia snuff. I think its first time appearing in my country. I ordered all four available here: Sparrow, Lime and Lemony, Gin & Tonic and Coconut Toffee. I’m afraid I will stop pinching them when I finish my boxes. I hope soon more of them will be here. To be honest Sparrow kicked my ass. Wonderful! It blows my head when I pinch it. This is a good reason to master my technique and approach it with respect. Lime and Lemony and Gin & Tonic - those are very refreshing everyday snuffs. Finally I can enjoy one of my favorite drinks at work. Thats great! And this Coconut Toffee - its like I’m eating real coconut toffees. I don’t need a desert with this. I like coconut sweets, but when its snuff - I love it.

I’ll admit to avoiding Dholakia at first. I was resigned to stick with English snuff after my debacle with Poschls. I only tried it after I received my 3rd tin as a free sample from Tom… and even that was only after I had them in my bag for over a month unused. I was a little dissappointed at first when I received them, since I really didn’t think I’d even use them. But, looking back, I regret that hesitation. Dholakia Chocolate Orange is now one of my top 4 favorites, and is always in my pocket when I go out. I didn’t get along as well with Sparrow, I’m still refining my technique, and I’m just not quite ready for anything that fine yet. I’m sure I’ll get there, though, because the scent seems very complex and worth the effort. I still haven’t tried my Dholakia American Caramel free sample yet. But it’s not because I’m avoiding Dholakia anymore… I’ve learned better… I’m just not that into sweets, snuff or otherwise, so the snuff just hasn’t tempted me enough yet. Plus, there’s still so much Chocolate Orange to go through when it’s time for ‘snuff dessert’, and the Chocolate Orange is sooooooo good!!!

Swiss Chocolate is better, but the Orange Chocolate is good and similar. Sparrow and Sparrow Cool are excellent, but I have found sticking the snuff in my nose, better and easier than trying to sniff them, as I always over sniff.

Not easy for a newbie (to be honest i am almost sure this one is difficult for everybody) but the Dholakia White is wonderful !

I, for one have stayed clear of them until my last order I purchased some Sparrow. I’m interested in trying some of the other varieties now-very good quality. This post just pushes me more in that direction-Thanks!

@tom502 How do you stick it in your nose? Give me a hint. I dont know this technique.

What I do, is just take a pinch of snuff, you have to figure which hand works best for you, between thumb and forefinger, and as I bring it to my nose, I sorta roll my forefinger down a little so the snuff is on my thumb tip, then I stick it in my nose and rub it on the inside of the outer side and front. You may just have to practice. If I was using a tapper, I would tap what I wanted into my palm and just pinch it from there.

the ganga and the kamal are two of my all time favorite snuffs. Wait so is the sparrow cool. I would have taken years to try these wonderfull snuffs (which I have to have at least one in my rotation at all times) if it wasn’t for their generous sample they sent me. As far as their contract blends the f.u.b.a.r. grunt is also one of my favorites too. For me it’s almost all about the wilsons the toque and the dholakia.

In fact there is only one dholakia snuff I’ve tried and not liked the swiss chocolate. Now I’am not a big fan of choclate I like it but not a lot. If you’re a chocolate lover you’ll love this snuff.

I’ve never tried the dholakia chocolate orange, but I mixed in a bit of St Clements with some of their swiss chocolate, and that was quite yummy.

their swiss chocolate is delicious. i’ve been meaning to try the chocolate orange. when i was a kid, we always had those “whack & unwrap” chocolate oranges at Christmas, and since it’s getting to be this time of year, perhaps I’ll replace it with a snuff this year.

@deeanne59, I’m with you about this. For me, Swiss Chocolate is the most delicious choco snuff available. Btw, are you female, born in 1959?
