DHOLAKIA GANGA & KAMAL

I don’t often see members mentioning these two jewels from Namarata. I love this snuff almost as much as I love Manjul. When I sit in a meeting with other people (especially ladies) I always put some Ganga up my nose. People around you will notice the sweet smell of roses on you. Kamal is a bit more robust and I love that too. I don’t know any other snuff with a fragrance like these two beauties. Why ain’t they more popular??

Hi Pieter, For me its becuase I haven’t tried them yet. I’ll be getting them soon, though. In fact I will be getting all the original Dholakias soon. I have thus far only tried the Sparrow Cool, which I think is good but has a bite. From what I have read, the others also have a sting to them.

they are two of my favorites.

Sparrow Cool really packs a punch , I’m really careful when using it . I’ll be trying the Ganga & Kamal when i place an order on the northerner.

the sparrow gets better with each use in my opinion.

I was also a bit catfoot with the Sparrow but, as Bob says, it gets better all the time. I always start with a very small pinch just to warn my nose about what is coming. Now that I’m used to it, I just love it.

Great snuffs, really special and have a unique niche in the snuff world in my view. There is no comparison to the new line IMHO, which I really dislike.

Ganga and Kamal are NOT my thing at all. Overpoweringly perfumed to me.

For me the Manjul is tops. But then I’m into Clove flavoured snuff I bought 44g direct from McCrystal’s.

They really are good. The Kamal being my favorite of the two. .

I think that with these two, one should take the Nicotine Rush e-store description. Strong to induce relaxation. I have and have not regrets. Kamal is more of stay at home. Ganga for one of those crazy, deal with smelly kids at my work days. Or just when I know I have to be around something smelly.

Kamal is also one of my favorites, closely followed by Chakali, which tends to knock me over ;O)

I have absolutely fallen in love with Ganga over the past week or two. As for the Kamal, I like it okay, but it is almost too sweet, and reminds me a lot of baby powder, and now I can’t get that out of my mind when snuffing it. Ganga however never fails to please me. Though hit doesn’t have a huge nicotine hit, which his what I often look for in snuffs, it has the beautiful qualities of keeping the flavor in your nose for hours, which amazed me in comparison to most other snuffs. The other magical quality is it’s ability to be completely delicious every time I use it; I never tire of snuffing it. It is almost like an Indian Royal George, in the sense that they are both highly flavorful and aromatic, which makes them both very unique. I think Ganga in the summer and spring, and Royal George in the autumn and winter is my personal cyclical preference.

@ Pieter: You lothario! I’ll bet you match your necktie to your eye color too. I’ve been taking Indian snuffs, including those that you mention, for a week or two now. I’m reminded of one of those colorful illustrations from the Kama Sutra when I take these snuffs and my apartment probably smells like a brothel in Garstin Bastion road but I love them.
