Dholakia Aniseed Menthol

Aniseed Menthol is a new American line of snuff from Dholakia. According to the Dholakia website, the American Line of snuff tobacco is made from selected sun cured tobacco leaves. This form of snuff tobacco is made from high nicotine tobacco leaves. This snuff is a fine grind almost a light medium grind. It is very lightly moist with a medium brown color. On first sniff I noticed it was pretty easy to take & fairly gentle on the nose considering its a menthol snuff. The aniseed is well detected. Its a nice tasty clean aniseed scent, not too strong not too light. The menthol note is about medium medium-light in strength. Just enough to know its there with a little bite without being over done which I was glad about. I saw menthol on the label and was afraid it was going to be eye watering, nose freezing strong. But it wasn’t. The menthol fades down pretty quickly and your left with a nice aniseed tone that hangs around for quite some time. The nicotine content does seem pretty decent as it does seem to satisfy. I would like to see a non-mentholated snuff in this American line. To sum things up, this is a finer grind snuff that is easy to sniff and has a nice lingering aniseed scent with a touch of menthol. If you enjoy the scent of aniseed and the cooling effect of menthol, you should definitely give this one a shot.

This is my favorite aniseed snuff. Mainly because of all of the aniseed offerings I’ve tried this is the most laid back mild version of them all. Aniseed is such a powerful flavor that it sometimes puts me off. But Namrata really kept the flavor light, just enough to taste it but allowing the distinct flavor of dholakia tobacco to still be very apparent. I suspect this snuff is based off of the Sparrow Blue with just a touch of aniseed added.

Fine to medium grind, fine odour of star anise, not to strong, quite dry. Nice snuff with an awaking scent in the nose.

that is awesome I’am very excited to try this snuff. I love aniseed but agree it is a very pungant herb and doesn’t need to be put in a snuff very heavily to come off over powering. This sounds like it may become a favorite of mine.
