Hello esteemed forumers, Standard Disclaimer: Sorry if there is already a thread for “snuff availability in ________”. I performed the perfunctory searches and came up with nil. I’ll be relocating from northwest Louisiana to Denver in two weeks. Wondered if anyone here knows how the availability is for snuff in that area. I imagine it’s pretty limited all across the U.S., but was hoping that a larger, more “progressive” city would have a few good tobacco shops. Here in LA, there is no shortage of the standard American brands, but alas my nose (so far) really more enjoys the European varieties. I do order online, but would like to support any local purveyors of fine snuffs if there are any available. On a hopeful note, I see that General snus is sold at quite a few locations around the city, and I am only aware of one in my current town. (I’ve spent many a lunch break driving across town to get my fix Any insight or recommended shops would be great. Thanks very much!
HERE is the thread.
And if you find somewhere that sells snuff in that area you can add it HERE.
Well thanks I guess. Why is this topic forbidden? Help a noob understand please.
Its not forbidden, per se. Just one of those FAQs that because every noob asks it, and no one knows the answer anyway, it gets annoying. The simple fact is you will be lucky to find anything beyond a few Pöschls and American scotch snuffs anywhere in the USA. Some folks occasionally find some English brands, but not often. Just start looking, and report what you find on the link ermtony gives.
Well it saves the forum getting cluttered with information that would be no use to many other members. Wishing you well on your move and search.
Yes the availability in the states is quite sad, but that’s a point with which we are all too well aquainted, and one that certainly doesn’t need to be rehashed here. Just to debate the (now moot) topic for a moment. On a board dedicated to the use of nasal snuff, it only seems natural that the topic of where people can support local retailers would be a key component of the Promotion of our beloved snuff. And as far as cluttering the boards, I, Respectfully, think that it would provide no more clutter than, for instance, a Word Association thread might. (I know, I know… We all need our diversions) Thanks for the well wishes. I will dutifully observe and report from the rocky mountain front; a lone grunt, feeling less alone as he reaches for his Grunt, battling on the frontlines of the Snuff War and using far too many commas.
Greetings Istridsberg Take a look at the Store Locator page on MrSnuffs website. Or do as I’ve done for my home town and let your fingers do the walking through the Denver Yellow Pages. Sadly, I think you know what to expect. Deep sigh… As a child there were few merchants of any kind that did not have snuff, American Scotch yes but ALL had some. Now, meh, most look as though I’m speaking gibberish when I inquire (-:
lstridsberg Welcome. Just so you know logic is welcome here. Just seemingly very uncommon. Though I do say thank you much for making that point.
Hi ya Istridsberg, Welcome to snuffhouse, Thanks for having the guts to post a store location thread, a mr. cstokes will probally be visiting you soon, just tell him you didnt know then lay down on the floor and play dead until he moves on. lol But seriously I wish more of the good snuffs were available locally.
lstridsberg? No sign of him. I believe he was last spotted pecking diligently away on the word association thread. Thanks for the welcomes, everyone.
There used to be a shop in Boulder on the downtown pedestrian mall that sold snuff, but I’m pretty sure they’ve closed. That being said, Boulder would probably not be a bad place to look. It’s pretty close to Denver, and worth a visit. It’s a pretty place.
Thanks Carol. I’m actually still looking for work, and Boulder is not outside the realm of a possible commute.
Is Denver where magazine American Drunkard is from? Used to read it years ago, don’t know if it still exists. Oh, and good luck in finding snuff!
I’m not familiar with the magazine you mentioned; I’m a pure-bred southerner to date. But I can tell you, with all of those fine microbrews available, I may soon become an American Drunkard myself.
Also as Tom502 has done, search out Indian grocers (from India) they can have some of their well made fragrant traditional snuff. If they don’t have it they may be able to get it.
American Drunkard is of course The Modern Drunkard.Sorry I was drunk! http://www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com/index.htmlThe mag still exists, they didn’t brag about possible Denver roots but I think that’s the case. have a look above, funny stuff.
@Juxtaposer Nice. That’s something to look forward to
I live in denver. Only a few shops carry snuff at all. those being smoker friendly, and only some of them at that carry poschl’s. there is a cigar shop that carries wilsons, deans own, and poschl’s . they are on broadway and hampden, but their stock is pretty old. the indian stores carry the non-pronounceable indian stuff.
@snuffrider Bang up job, sir. Thanks very much for the input! May you be reincarnated as a strong and noble unicorn.
