Deadend

Hi ive been snuffing on and on for 4 years. I recently got my hands on a great snuff called Dholakia White. This is a great hard kicking snuff, only problem is that all my other snuffs completely lost theire nice little kick.. I loved the HDT and other snuffs of the dry strong type. But this one beats the crap out of everything Ive ever tried. There has to be some kind of other strange ingredient to this snuff as it smells stronglo from ammonia. Anyone knows what this is? And is it harmfull in any way? I also would like to know if there are other really strong dry snuffs out there to run alongside the Dholakia White. Anyone?

Ammonia is a natural byproduct of the tobacco grinding process. The presence of a strong ammonia smell indicates that the snuff is fresh. Air out the snuff for a day or so and the ammonia smell will go away. It is harmless but the scent is undesirable (at least for me).

From what I understand, let your tin of White air out for an hour or so and the ammonia will dissipate. And if you’re looking for something with a nicotine kick, try NTSU or Taxi Red. But they are not dry.

I just leave mine spread out on a plate in a cupboard.

It`s not that the ammonia smell bothers me all that much, I kind of really like this snuff beacause of its potensy. The problem is were to go from here when all my other snuffs lost theire sting… =)

But thanks 4 youre commments anyway. =)

Just had my first shot of this. I love ammonia!

@havregryn: American scotches are quite high in nicotine. Does the nicotine level in Bruton, W.E. Garrett or Rooster seem insufficient to you?

Yes it does, they are like angeldust compared to the DW. Got a can of Rooster the other day, but the taste i prefer is still the HDT by FT. Ill might try to mix these to snuffs up (HDT and DW) to se if I can come upon a nice mixture. I think the HDT of F&T is the king of snuffs you see, but thats only my preferance. Wish to create a snuff with the same taste but more sting… But aside of that I hope the new spanish jewel from toque will give the sting its all said to be.=) Read that Roderick is working on this one u know so… =)

I sit here proud of myself this morning as I have devised a “no dust in the lungs” method for taking this. I have a very small spoon that is a relic of my college days in the early 80’s when the world didn’t know Len Bias and drugs didn’t hurt you. Anyway, I fill my spoon and turn my head 90 degrees to the side and literally dump it on the side of my nostril. Then, I immediately remove the spoon and do an “NTSU pinch” on that nostril closing it off from breathing. When the finger is removed, the snuff is attached in the nose without dust in the lungs. Thought I’d pass this along for the adventurous.

I know what you guys are talking about, I think I have finally mastered my Toque toasts, I havent tried the Dholokia white yet but I have been wondering how it compares to the fubar line which dholokia also makes?

@havregryn “The problem is were to go from here when all my other snuffs lost theire sting…” Keep the DW on hand for your nicotine maintenance and continue to enjoy all the other snuffs for what sensory pleasures they offer (-;

@Pilgrim Dholakia white is quite unlike anything else. Think NTSU (ammonia and all) but the approximate size of an electron. It rather makes toasts seem the consistency of scmalzlers.

What in the world does NTSU mean you guys?

NTSU is a very moist, very coarse South African snuff. I just tried it for the first time this week myself. It gives me the strongest and most lasting nicotine hit I’ve ever had. If you like ammonia, you would love NTSU.

Its a Zulu word for ‘Eagle.’ I fly like one when I take it.

Ok I`ll order it then =). Got the taxi red, is it anything like this one?

Taxi Red is similar to NTSU. NTSU is a bit coarser, and has a more interesting scent. Taxi red to me has a bit less nicotine.

@havregryn. I think White is a good condiment snuff. Meaning that you could try to add it to F&T to get the nicotine you would otherwise miss. Or you could go through some withdrawal for a day and re-sensitize yourself to the weaker stuff.

I like the taxi red, and am wondering if the taxi menthol has a similar kick, also conversely awaiting reciept of a tin of NTSU menthol, and wondering if the NTSU plain has a similar kick to it. I have an apparent biological need (or addiction) for at least a few doses of menthol a day, to keep things clear enough to enjoy the sp’s and kb’s at other times, so I’m curious about very potent medicated offerings. Sometimes ya just want a powerful dose to the ol noggin right?
