Got a another order of MusinoTabak. Tried St. Omer’s and Mississippi Tabak for the first time. Both are wonderful in their own right. Mississippi has a courser grind and a moist base. The first scent that comes up is the licorice. Not overwhelming but a dark deep sweetness. Initially, the scent that complemented the licorice I mistakenly took for a citrus, but is in fact elderberry. The scent lasts a long time. I’ve been reaching for this regularly through the evening. The last flavor to come through is the rosewater. St. Omer is another gem. A dark brown tobacco bordering on black, its finely ground. I’ve found this one to be the sneeziest snuff I’ve encountered :). The flavor is amazing. Flavored with rosewood oil and amber, I can catch the rosewood oil. As is the case with all of De Kralingse snuffs, they have a maintain a perfect balance. Personally, I prefer Mississippi Tabak, but St. Omer’s is aweome as well. Well done Jap!
sneezing from St. Omer? Maybe it is a little dry. My stock here is moist.
Mississippi tabak is glorious. I was hesitant until I tried it.
Lovem all really great snuffs!
@ all: Thank you. :">
Make sure you stock up on all your favorites. I heard the city is putting the windmill up for sale!

noooooo! @snuffmiller what is the status of the windmill?
@Mouse: It is as basement_shaman said. The windmills are already put up for sale for 4 years. Now things are going in rapids. I don’t know what comes out of it. Last month I made a final effort to convince the city council that the city should care for its cultural history and not selling it with the excuse that the city has to cut down their costs. I’ll look what comes out of it. For the moment I’ll keep on producing. Next month we put our latest “new” historical snuff on the market: Tabak de Paris
Tabac de Paris
Tabac de Paris á la Robillard. Another karotten snuff is in the pipeline: Doppelmops aka Fijne Rotterdammer. Jaap Bes
@snuffmiller Best of luck in your endeavors! I hope beyond hope that your skills continue to thrive, wherever it may be, but would love to see you be able to stay in the windmill. It really adds to the lore of your brand. =)
@snuffmiller Could the Snuffhouse community help you with a petition or something like that?
@Jernej: I did consider that, but I do not think it would do the trick. I’ll think it over again and let you know.
Jaap Bes.
I think it’s worth a try and I’m sure other members would gladly help!
@snuffmiller - if you lose the mill, will you continue making snuffs by other means, such as ball mill or other devices?
@cpmdill: No, the windmills are our factories and are insaparably connected with our snuffmaking. Sorry.
Jaap Bes.
Jaap, I’m sad to hear the windmills are for sale. Will your Tabac a Paris and the Dopplemops be sold at Mr Snuff or, only from your website? I think the local government should buy the windmills, and preserve them for their historical importance.
@mrmanos: If Mr Snuff is still interested in buying our snuffs he can of course, but we will also sell them from our website as we do with all our other products. I am preparing the Tabac de Paris a la Robillard for sale now. Next month we start stamping the karotten for the Doppelmops.
As for the windmills the local government of Rotterdam is the one who has put the mills up for sale as a cut on their budget. And I think as the city center was bombed out during WW II they also lost their interest in historical objects with it.
Jaap Bes.
sorry to hear that Jaap, … the historical stuff is prescious and draws tourists, tourists bring munny to spend in the local economy. I would just love to see de Ster and de Lelie in action and with Jaap mannin’ the Sails.
