I was looking through some old posts about De Kralingse, since I was planning on ordering some from Nicotine Rush, and I noticed that folks had posted that it is typically a course grind. My question is how course is it? I think the thickest/heaviest snuff I have tried thus far was a sample of Taxi Red (which ended up being too course for me to enjoy). I was hoping you all could educate me before I make a purchase. Thanks
A/P and Latakia is really coarse, Pompadour and Macuba isn’t (if I remeber the names right). Give both a try, you won’t regret it. I really enjoy the course ones, as they simply stand out.
Macuba & Hollandse Bolongaro (?) are medium coarse and fairly dry.
I love them all. Such great snuffs. My favorites are the A/P and Hollandse Bolongaro.
I love the Ao 1860, it’s very good and the nic kick is above average. It’s coarse but easy to snuff, not like Taxi which keeps dropping out of ones nose.
I dont find the latakias to be that coarse. I’d say they were on par with Poschls. The Hollandse is quite coarse though. I consider Bernards schmaltzers to be coarse also.
I think the latakia just feels course in the nose because it is such a full bodied and heavy tobacco. I have had a bit get lost in a Touque Chocolate mix so I would have to say the grinds are similar. The Dekralingse virginia snuffs are awsome too. You can’t go wrong with any of those.
Thanks much for the input. I guess I will have to try them all.
Pompadour and Prins Regent arent course at all, you should try them anyway, they are one of the few snuffs why I dont only snuff Toque
At first I didn’t really care for the A/P or Oranje snuffs, but now I love them. They are a different breed of snuff, but quite good. I highly recommend Pompadour and Prins Regent, along with the tobacco free Potpourri #1. For a tobacco free snuff, it is wonderful. I still need to try their menthol tobacco free. My sample of Hollandse Bolognaro is gone, I need to get some of that too.
I love them all, but I think the Peppermint, 1860 and Macouba are my favorites of the bunch. I don’t think they are too course, just require a good blow a lot more often. When fresh they are some of the best flavored snuffs around. Very satisfying.
very chain snuffable in my opinion like I can’t stop sticking them up my nosee.
I’ve only tried the Prins Regent and Macouba and they were very coarse for dry snuffs. Actually too coarse for me.
I ended up ordering 5 of the brands listed on the Nicotine Rush website. RIght now I have a healthy portionof Macouba up my nose. The scent is pretty amazing. I can’t wait to try the other ones I ordered.
I received four of them yesterday and ended up taking Macouba to work and though I usually use 2-3 diferent snuffs thru the evening I stuck with it all night. I was surprised at how long lasting the scent is. Tomorrow it’ll probably be Prinz Regent making the trip with me. Now its time to order the rest of them.
The Hollandse Bolongaro is very course. It’s like a dried out Taxi snuff. It’s very soft and light.
Hello to you all, The Latakia types are sieved throuh 250 micrometer sieves and the other ones are sieved through 400 micometer sieves. Hope that help to establish the “coarseness” Jaap Bes.
Wow, 400um is pretty big. I didn’t think that it was that course.
400 millionths of a meter is big? For which molecules LOL
Me likes 400 micrometer sieves!
