Dark Horse - Original Kentucky Snuff

There is another new snuff on the market: Dark Horse snuff. I have only seen it at one retailer (lil brown), comes in tappers and tins. Clove, Mint and Raspberry flavors. Anyone tried it?

No but it sounds very interesting.

It is distributed by A&T Tobacco. I think this might just be a contract brand by a UK manufacturer.

Yes, to quote snuffster , “very interesting”. Thx for the tip cstokes4.

I saw that too, but I was thinking maybe they misplaced it, and it’s pipe tobacco. Still not sure.

Well, given that it is prominently labelled “snuff,” I’m pretty sure you can rest assured that it isn’t pipe tobacco.

Maybe Roderick has a dark horse in the race.

.18 oz (5g) tins of pipe tobacco I don’t think so. I checked their website and they sell a bunch of cheap small cigars and ryo pipe tobacco. They don’t sell any other smokeless tobacco from what I can tell so it’s certainly interesting. PS I’m interested if it’s good or not.

Group buy anyone?

Yeah, sure. I guess WoS or SG are the main contenders for a contract brand; not forgetting of course that a certain snuff man from the far north of England makes very good raspberry snuff!

^^This^^ The new tappers by Silver Dollar are identical to the tappers by Dark Horse, but the tins look like that of McC.

Gotta love the name. It hints of someone’s sense of humor.

George Harrison.

+1 @Spyro. Its cool, because we get it, but most people would have no clue.

www.lilbrown.com has it, just noticed when looking for something else.

Yep. See post #1

My bad. Thats probably what got me thinking or lilbrown in the first place.

Dark Horse is manufactured in the US and is FDA compliant. The manufacturer is Heritage Tobacco. From what I can find they make pipe tobacco, mainly, “house blends” for tobacco stores. I can’t tell more than that. Heritage seems to like being in the shadows.

Best place for a tobacco company to be in this age.

Lordy be! A proper American snuff, made in America! I’m going to have to order some now, before I was a bit hesitant because… well, why order something that might just be a re-label. Thanks for the info Mick.
