I was surfing around the net trying to find a replacement for the smash boxes I had gotten. Didn’t care at all for the low quality & skeptical if they were airtight. I came across a beauty supply company that had 5 & 10ml hard, clear polystyrene sample jars with screw on lids of the same material. I figured at around $14 for 25 10 ml jars I would give them a try. They are normaly used for samples of powders & scents so I figured they meet snuff requirements. They looked great when they arrived & I decided to test them before use. I put some underwater for 24 hrs & none of them had taken on a bit of moisture. I have filled some with 1 or 2 days worth snuff & so far so good. I’d love some feedback if anyone else has used something similar.
Do you have a link for the jars you obtained?
@WWhermit, the site is beautymakeupsupply.com. You can also search the auction site for 10ml jars. For some reason it works out a bit cheaper than their own site. I suggest the 10ml size. It’s wide enough to get fingers in for a pinch. (At least mine)
Snuffhouse Snuff Box Mahogany Brown $7.49 you could get One https://mistersnuff.com/catalog/snuffhouse-snuff-mahogany-brown-p-2503.html?osCsid=87864a56ddb64d0798efd6eb2a6e441e
Thanks @basement_shamen but that’s exactly my point. I have some of those on order but they are $7.49 each. The 10ml jars are just over .40 each. I also find that I can easily carry 4-6 in my pants pocket & go wild snuffing all day.
Being airtight isn’t really that important in a daily snuffbox since you will be filling it everyday, you just need it to be snuff proof so you don’t end up with a pocket full of snuff and to have a design that is easy to open and pinch from. If those jars are airtight they would be excellent for decanting 10g tins into to keep them fresh.

Thank you sir!
I prefer a snuff container that the lid remains attached, because often my hands are occupied, and a lid would be just one more thing to bother with
