I placed an order with Mr. Snuff near to a month ago and still hoping for the best. What kinds of shipping and customs times have American snuffers seen with Mr. Snuff lately, and has anybody had anything bounce back from customs? While I’m sure this comes up pretty regularly, its something that I’m sure changes with the seasons (and laws) over here. I’d really like a little insight from other users.

listen Asherael… you have to be patient. Customs is the biggest cause of long waits. Stay calm man. I’ve told many people on this forum it can take 7 days to get to you or it can take 30 but it’s generally not mrsnuffs fault. It has taken 45 days for snuff orders to get to me in the past. If you haven’t received it past that time shoot the folks over at mrsnuff an email. Also if you take a look at their shipping policy on the website that will help you as well.

The thing that has always interested me is I can order snus from Sweden and have it here in Georgia in 3 days, but any order for snuff I have made from UK has taken at least a week and a half or more. Last 3 orders I placed with buysnus on mondays got here by wednesday or thursday of the same week. What is the reason for this because I would gladly pay more for less hassle and less waiting. Is it because these Swedish places fill out customs forms before they ship it or because they use UPS. If it is as easy as using UPS then why not make that readily available?

Trust me. I’m not blaming Mr. Snuff. I was just hoping for some comparable shipping times that others have experienced, dealing with customs.

I wasnt saying it was Mr Snuffs fault or Toques for that matter either. I just get irritated that it takes so long to get it. But I have always received my orders regardless and the customer support has been top notch.

@Grim - I think the time difference is UPS versus the postal services. Customs can still wreck havoc to snus orders but it is rare.

You should always order more snuff then you can consume in two months. And place orders monthly. This way you never run out. When you worry it take longer.

I agree which is what I just did with my last order. My first order was small because I wanted to make sure this was something I would continue to enjoy and it has turned into a passion of mine. I want to make sure everyone knows I was not bashing any company. My experiences with all these companies have been great. Heck, MrSnuff even emailed me today to let me know they were out of something I ordered and gave me some great alternatives I could choose, other companies I have dealt with in the states would just send the order, and then you wouldnt find out until you got it and have to email them back. When a company goes that extra mile it means a lot to me. I will say with only down size I had when using UPS when ordering snus was the minimum shipping from Sweden was always around $30. Thats a lot to pay if you are only ordering say $30 or so in snus.

I think part of it is I haven’t bought snuff since Nicotine Rush was up stateside and could get it to my door in what felt like hours.

UPS would be awesome for me!! That said MrSnuff I really do enjoy the low price of your shipping right now. So I’m not gonna complain. Snuff lasts awhile so once you get your first order you should never be without. UPS would be a nice alternative though in case I wanted something really bad and really fast. Sometimes a man wants a faster horse…most of the time I’m too thrifty to pay for them but Commerce has it lusts for speed now and again…

@MrSnuff Yeah, I get regular shipments through UPS and am very happy with their service. Also, I got messages indicating that my orders had been shipped. They aren’t being held up on your end as far as I can tell. I was just wondering if people had noticed that customs or shipping in general was particularly slow at present.

UPS as an option would be nice. At some point the shipping cost of the two would probably be the same, or close to it, on a larger order. At that point I would choose UPS every time. But for smaller orders using the postal service would probably be cheaper.

Yeah, i usually only do two-three snuff orders a year(ok 4-5), so they are generally big. The shipping is astronomical. Luckly my guy cut me a deal on my last package.

@MrSnuff I think it would be nice to have the option to do so because for folks state side, it would cut down on delivery times. People need to know too that it would require a signature at delivery though unlike delivery through regular mail. If you do decide to go this route, please also leave the other shipping methods too because it could be a cost saver for those not making huge orders. It sucked when I would only want to buy a few cans of snus but the minimum shipping price $30.

My latest order got here in nine days. I can’t complain about shipping because it’s pretty awesome.

I just received the order I placed 28 September. The order I placed 17 September is still hung up in customs. Looks like if I order enough that I lose track of what I’m waiting for I’ll always be pleasantly surprised.

I received the first package a few hours later on the same day. I wonder if ordering a small second order is a good way to bump an order dragging its feet at the border through customs.

Delivered yesterday. It took eight days.

I’ve been waiting on a package for almost a month now. This is the longest I’ve waited for an order from mr snuff

While i have every faith in the Mr Snuff crew, i have been having great difficuties recieving orders of American snuff which is posted from the US. My current order is at the month mark now. I have had a couple of other US orders that have had to be resent. But…Andrea always finds a solution and has not let me down yet. Since i have recieved every single order (of at least 20+ orders) from the EU (Ireland i believe) i would be interested to know who ships it from the US. I dont think i could ever see myself using any other competitors though as Mr Snuff is so far ahead of the rest (and i’m not just saying that because he own’s this website).

@BigNose Some of the Indian Smoke Shops ship snuff. But for the most part they only have scotches. Lil Brown has some Wilson’s but not in bulk and a limited selection in comparison to Mr Snuff

My first two orders were shipped on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll update when they arrive, though I’m not in a rush now that I was able to pick up some Tube Rose at the local shop. Oh and @joesnuffer, I love your reviews on YouTube man.

Wow, over a month huh? That’s wild, glad I was able to find something around here to try out before my order arrives. USPS is awful and customs is worse, so I would imagine that combination is why some orders take that long.

@TopographicTales…In all fairness, I have received many orders in the past at far more rapid pace. This is hopefully just an outlier…

Mr. Snuff has had some problems with the warehouse not correctly reporting products out of stock. If you’re waiting for an order, check to make sure its gone from “printed” to “shipped” in a timely manner. I’ve received fantastic customer service sorting out this issue.

Thanks for the heads up @mrsnuff. I placed an order one week ago and it was printed the next day. Usually it gets shipped the day last night I received an email from Andrea last night stating that my beloved Tom Buck was out of stock. I chose to replace it with queens extra so hopefully it ships shortly. As much as I would like to receive my order asap I do appreciate the option to change it out

e-mail and option to adjust the order would be my preference.

By the way Dave, you should ask that question in its own thread, or it will get buried rather quickly by a few answers.

Since I’m on the far side of a potentially lengthy customs process, I’d rather be bounced a refund for immediate shipment (with notice that this has happened) particularly with expensive, high-speed shipping (I had hoped to rush it through for arrival before a party). I have been very happy, however, with the substitutions option on my last couple orders. I was able to replace a tin of checkerberry for two 45 gram containers of Kailash, which has very abruptly become my favorite variety.

Well, one of my orders that was sipped last Monday got here today. 7 days, good stuff.

Back to topic. I am starting with small orders (under $50) to get a grasp on what I like. 1st order shipped 8-17-12 I received it 8-24-12 (5 business days, 7 days total), second order shipped 9-14-12 not yet received (26 business days, 38 days total so far), third order 10-12-12 received on 10-23-12(6 business days, 10 days so far). If an order gets held at customs, how will I find out or does it just disappear? Also hoping for the best but for now I still have some left from the 1st order.

@cigargod, in customs it’ll just sit there, sometimes a second order will bump a lingering package through. I think if it’s refused to you, it’ll bounce back to MisterSnuff, and they’ll let you know. Customs is in the business of long delays, but doesn’t seem to be in the business of seizing orders.

Reading this thread I realized that EU (and EEA) are pretty good things. No customs holding our packages.

you will get a letter if it is seized telling you why it was seized and if you want to claim it you sign the back and send it back to them… that is good and bad, if it is “contraband” signing it and sending it back in admits guilt otherwise it is destroyed in 30 days if they do not hear back from you… not that is if it is contraband and not suppose to be sent ie. Medications , but snuff most likely will be returned to Mr. Snuff and both parties will get a letter from US Customs and Border Patrol… I have got a few in my days but never for snuff

Personally I’d definitely prefer an email about anything out of stock and advice about any replacement/ refund/ putting the order on hold. Having the knowledge about what exactly the order’s status is would greatly relieve my anxiety. Fortunately, I don’t think I’ve had any real delays with your company and any issues have been promptly addressed.

@MrSnuff Faster is better. In a perfect world, i would walk across the street from my house, to your store, and buy some snuff. In other words, i want what i want and i want it right now, even if that intails not getting quite everthing. Of course, notification would be in manditory. I once had to wait over three week on an order, placed elsewhere, to ship b/c i made the mistake of including a “special order” item in my purchase. I had litterally lost a lot of interest, and sleep, by the time i received it.
