Nigel has already very kindly alerted you to the two new products that I mentioned were in the making a couple of months ago. Auld Alliance is another attempt to replicate a snuff from the Georgian era. It is a moist, coarse ground blend of Virginia and wild tobacco leaves and during the maturing and fermentation process I added vanilla pods to bring out the natural sweetness of the Virginias. Field of Junipers is a lightly toasted, medium grind snuff flavoured with different berries, of which Juniper provides the top note. I hope they meet with approval. These and another batch of Crème de Figue are now on the way to the MrSnuff warehouse.
Wonderful! I am so looking forward to trying them! Does the Field of Junipers’ base contain n.rustica also?
I am checking Mr.Snuff every few hours. As soon as they arrive I will be ordering them along with some Abraxas snuffs and when they arrive with me I may well hide myself away for a few days in a state of bliss.
Mouse - yes, Part of the blend is n,rustica
Hi, @Mouse, have you tried the Field of Junipers yet? Can you really smell junpier berries?
@eeldergill --My order just shipped from mistersnuff, probably be a week or two before it arrives.
I really need to start wearing my reading glasses while I’m here. I keep thinking it’s called Field Of Jumpers. Game of five-a-side, anyone?
@lunecat beat me to it both in commenting and on the best method of dealing with certain snuffs. The temptation when I got my order last week was to jump in and try them all but having already fallen in love with Creme de Figue and Cerise I decided to treat the new snuffs with the respect they deserve and go slowly. Field of Junipers in the tin does smell very similar to some Juniper essential oil that I have. In the nose that aroma is only noticeable for a very brief period and is replaced by what Abraxas suggests in his Snuff Central review of this snuff - snuffiness and subtle. The aromas meld into something that has to be tried and as lunecat has said there is a certain warmth. There is fractionally more burn than Creme de Figue but barely noticeable. Abraxas has suggested that this snuff has an addictive charm and I can quite see this being an all day snuff. I will also be stocking up on this. I shall take more of this today in an attempt to find a better description of the aroma and then tomorrow it will be on to Auld Alliance followed in days to come by Abraxas PBS coarse and Cafe 11. The anticipation is killing.
I’ve just ordered 50g of Auld Alliance, that is one hell of a snuff. Beautiful. Stefan
Just took delivery of an order from Mr. Snuff. Haven’t tried the Auld Alliance yet, but after a pinch or two of Field of Junipers, I’m very impressed.
