I was quite happy that friends in London are occasionally able to get me a few M&W snuffs. They have become an occasional treat. Covent Rose was a suprise gift, and I’m glad to get it. Covent Rose is not one of the 4 mainstay M&W snuffs, rather it is along with Rumba, Emerald Mocha and Citrus Delight one of the occasional dealer’s specials. One comment on the tin label, it seems they only print labels for the mainstay snuffs, and handwrite on the labels on the special snuffs. At first I thought that this was simply Wilsons Rose of Sharrow rebranded. However, after some comparison the Rose in this is not quite as pungent as the WoS. The tobacco note is also quite distinct, more so here than in Sharrow’s. Also quite suprising to me is that I can also sense a bit of what I think is cinnamon. Its a nice little touch. Other than the slight variations in scenting, this is still the same basic flour that Wilson’s snuff users are familar with and its quite enjoyable.
