Cotton Boll Twist: anyone tried it in a pipe?

I’m fairly new at the whole pipe thing. I’ve just had a few bowls of different drug-store brands, but I’m getting 6 Cotton Boll Twists in the mail soon. Any tips on smoking it? I tried to smoke SG Black Twist and it would not light very well, but I’ve read that Cotton Boll is drier and pretty much ready for chewing or blazing.

I found it a strong tobacco with no subtle nuances, a bit like smoking a brick wall.

Yes I have. It’s strong but hard to keep lit, IMO.

I grounded the rest of what I had and used it as nasal snuff. Loved it!

I tried smoking King B twist, which i thought was very dry… I chopped it up and broke it down alittle bit, and still had the worst time trying to get it to light. Think there’s just too much sugar content in there for it to burn decent… Once thoroughly dessicated though, it ground up to a nice fine powder that went well mixed with a scotch.

Cotton Boll smokes very much like an English brown rope, damn strong and there ain’t nothing subtle about it.  It is very dry and is easier to keep lit than the English brown ropes, but the dryness also makes it rather harsher.

Thank you all. I will probably chew most of it anyways. The thing is Lil’ Brown did not have another item I’d ordered, so they’re sending me 6 Cotton Boll Twists instead of 3. They will probably last me through the year.

@spranalang made some strong snuff with Cotton Boll a couple of years ago.

I ground some cotton boll with a big stone mortar and pestle a couple of days ago to help with the cigarette cravings (day 5 on snuff alone!).  The smell and strength are fantastic, but I have to say it has the Nastiest drip on any snuff–it feels like battery acid is going down the back of the throat.  I must take care to snuff it more gently.
