anyone else having a problem of constantly losing log-in? Seems to have started with the latest update of Firefox. Also getting ‘303’ errors – ‘service unavailable’ ‘varnish cache’ so I don’t know if it is my browser or the web site…
For last few days I have to log every time I open Snuffhouse, sometimes even after posting
I´m having the same problem right now, navigating through a proxy and Google Chrome.
I get intermittent 503-Service Unavailable. Sounds like a problem with their host.
Also, “refresh” usually works
But who is the Guru
But who is the Guru
Guarantee…
good to know it’s not my computer; are you all using Firefox or is the problem on the server? Oh, and I think the Guru’s name is Crazy George.
I use Google Chrome. No proxy.
OK, then, it’s the server. Maybe some hackers are trying to exploit the Heartbleed bug to garner secrets of the nose. They could just join. Who is in charge of kicking server butt on this site?
Safari here, same problem
I’ve been getting booted out for months, that’s why I’ve not posted much lately - halfway through typing a post I get the "you don’t have permission to do that’ message an that’s that, if I click on the Snuffhouse logo or refresh I have to sign in again. I actually got the ‘draft saved’ message this time, so fingers crossed. I’m on Internet Exploder, by the way.
Firefox here, since yesterday I experience the same problem. @miamimark thanks, that seems to be a workable work-around
Same problem with the logging in on both my computer and my phone, also keep getting the 503 service unavailable error on both computer and phone. On my computer when it logs me out I just click on the discussions tab and I’m logged back in but it doesn’t work on my phone.
I’ve been having the same problem for MONTHS! I came to this question immediately after signing in and when I attempted to post my answer, I was notified that I wasn’t signed in.
I had to sign in 3 times to respond to your post. PITA !
@lunecat said it, I mean same for me.
I checked with the Vanilla forum and they acknowledge the problem and claim to know the cause; a fix is in the works. http://vanillaforums.com/discussion/4243/constantly-being-logged-out-503-errors-no-helpdesk-responses-etc
seems thats ok now… i guess
Testing, testing, one, two, three…
Well, after a promising couple of days I’ve just had to sign in three times in half an hour. And as I type this I’m once again getting that bl@@dy light bulb with the “You don’t have permisson to do that” message, so to post this I’m going to have to finish it, cut it, and paste it back in when I’ve signed in FOR THE FOURTH TIME TONIGHT! I really enjoy this website, but through no fault of it’s own it’s the most frustrating one of which I’m a member. Edit: Got the message again. Signing in for the fifth time tonight to try to post this. Edit: Sixth time. Edit: Seventh. Edit: Eighth. Edit: Ninth.
The Problem of losing log-in seems to still be here… ???
It went away for a bit but know its back with a vengeance
I have this problem no more
It’s happened to me a few times today as well, I will get one of the more techy mods to look into it. Last time it was vanilla so it may be them again, will let you know if there is a workaround etc.
Just checked on Vanilla forum and it is a known issue for a bunch of forums; they’ve closed the complaint thread; guess they don’t want to hear more about it so I don’t know if they are aware that it is happening to this forum. The last time it happened they claimed it was just some isolated groups on the cloud. Hopefully a more techy mod will let them know.
might help if people let on what browsers and OS they are using. maybe ISP too, since i notice the problem can change based on my VPN settings. ooh, just got this trying to post- Error 503 Service Unavailable Service Unavailable Guru Meditation: XID: 389188773 Varnish cache server
Using Silk on kindle and Safari on Mac same problem just happened as I went to post this…hope it’s being resolved by IT…
Yesterday I also encountered that problem. To day everything is O.K. again. Jaap Bes.
Well, my problems seem to be over (he said, poking the side of the wooden door next to him). I decided to try Google Chrome instead of Internet Exploder just to see if it would work, and so far I’ve been logged in with no trouble, and that’s since yesterday. Hoorah, I say to you. I think I’ll make up a little order at SnuffStore by way of celebration. Cafe Noir here I come…
