I’ve noticed that alot of people seem to consider s.p. style snuffs to be closer to the natural side (tobacco) of scent then other scented snuffs. This confuses me because sps in general seem to have no more tobacco scent then other scented snuffs. Can anyone explain to me why some people consider sp more natural scented then other snuffs.
I *think* this is due to the SP’s origin. The SP was once a natural snuff with a tad bit of flavoring. Read ERMTony’s article on the classification of snuffs. Or as a I refer to it… The Snuff Bible.
where is this article?
Here it is. The thread also contains some great information itself:On the classificaiton of snuff
I’ve often wondered the same thing, but i think it has to do more with the history behind the sp types than anything.
I think that due to the SP flavorings ability to enhance the tobacco rather than overpower it, one has the ability to taste the base tobacco better than other scented snuffs. To me, all menthols taste the same but SP’s all taste different. Maybe most of us start w/ Menthols and SPs and I think that you can taste the tobacco better w/ SPs.
