A couple questions to peak some intelligent thought and discussion:

I’m always looking to make a snuff at Gadsden Mill that folks in the community would enjoy, and at a reasonable price.

A) What are some flavors you folks would be interested in? (I’m open to ideas!)

B) Is anyone interested in bulk quantities?

J

If you are located in the EU, I would love to try some. However, I’m not interested in bulk quantities. As for flavors, I’d like to see something uncommon, something that has not been introduced before.

N

What is your definition of bulk?

M

50-200 grams. Shipping would be more obviously.

J

@Michibacy, I like natural tobacco scents, bourbon/ whiskey. Your Holmes’ Office is sublime. Very much enjoyed that one. I would definitely by in bulk

B

bay rum

M

@bob That’d be a interesting venture for sure. Although not local, I believe I can purvey some dried leaves for an oil extract.

A

A mix of 1 part Patchouli, 2 parts East Indian Sandalwood, 2 parts Amar, 2 parts Ylang Ylang, 3 to 4 parts Geranium, 6 parts Jasmine.

Or another idea a Floral Lilly scent.

I would also like to see a Cannabis scent although that would be very hard to ship to make it smell authentic.

M

@Aamon,I did try to make a pure scented floral labeled The Queens Botanical last year, it turned out rather difficult, not bad, but not like sticking your schnoz into a flower.

The oils in most flowers is quite volatile, so standard extrusion methods leave me with a green smell, versus the original floral scent I wanted to achieve. If I had an apparatus to steam distill, that’d be ideal.

I

I enjoy earthy, toasted tobaccos, cant wait to try the cdr

I

I very much buy in bulk.

M

What volume of bulk do you purchase @illini_mac8504 ? Meaning how many grams, and if you don’t mind me asking, what price? I don’t want to be absurd with pricing, but am under the impression bulk pricing is there for a reason.

@jmahes, in your opinion is the snuff you’ve had form Gadsden Mill worth it’s price?

B

Packaging is expensive . small zip lock bags are not.

As for flavors: Rootbeer snuff is awesome ,I used McCormick concentrate on a scotch and it turned out nice.  But I think it be better on a moister snuff.

And bulk I only buy bulk I absolutely love.

J

@Michibacy, yes I do think Gadsen Mill snuff is worth the price.
I believe the last 10gr tin I bought was $10. Now, some may have an issue with that. But I don’t mind paying more for hand made natural snuff, made by individuals who take a lot of time and pride in their work.
But , of course, would I like spending less than a $ / gram if I bought 250grams? Yes , I would very much like that as well

M

I’ll keep that in mind! Thanks for the input folks

S

Pine scented would be awesome !!!

T

graham cracker and bourbon or cocoa and marshmallows…or maybe im just in the mood for some s’mores and bourbon

U

Cardamom. I absolutely love the scent.

I

@michibacy, i like to buy anywhere from 50-250g increments. Pricing depends, i never went without my OM’s which was more expensive, but i just ordered 100g from Toque fpr around $35 plus shipping

D

more variants on spanish jewel/gem type flavors

C

Going with the earlier cardamom suggestion earlier, a flavor that I have not seen yet is a straight-up turkish coffee scent, sweet with a strong dark coffee scent and a pronounced undercurrent of cardamom.

N

Earthy to sweet and leathery with an old book smell.

M

@@nicmizer
Leathery is one smell I’ve yet to obtain. I’m still on the lookout as this was one of my initial attempts. Instead it turns out rather chemically smelling. I do however need to find a food grade additive that is “leathery” smelling. To achieve the old book smell, I may be able to find some cellulose paper and decompose it, to get that smell, mixed with the top layer of oils after extracting from vanilla, Vanillin is the active chemical that you smell, how ever, any sugar (even that present in a solvent extract) makes it smell “sweet” which isn’t the normal “old book” scent.

I am also contemplating doing a special run on some Christmas scents if anyone thinks it’s worth having a go at? I’m thinking Cinnamon Cocoa, maybe Evergreen and possibly Cranberry Salad.

T

cinnamon cocoa would certainly be fantastic

A

@Michibacy I’d absolutely love a Hickory smelling snuff mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

T

Evergreen would be nice.

M

@TShaq , I might need to break out the cocoa blend again. It was elegant yet simple, definitely on the sweeter side, and a courser grind was a little bit more gentle on the schnoz.

@Aamon , I’ve got to harvest some more hickory this weekend (mostly for burning in the furnace, but a little bit for smoking food as well, perhaps some will migrate to the shop for snuff)

@tlag77 , Which evergreen do you imagine? Sweet (typically more towards the “candied” evergreen smell you have around Christmas time as air fresheners and what not) or a true evergreen (as if you’re walking through a pine plantation).

Cheers

I

@michibacy something like a spruce/peppermint with hints of pine and maybe slight menthol would be amazing.

T

@Michibacy True evergreen, like a fresh cut Christmas tree. I would love that!!

A

an Oud smelling snuff would be fantastic and sophisticated high end luxury product I would love to see. Although the price of Oud oil is one of the most pricy of them all but very unique

H

I’m interested in buying in bulk(50 to 100grams)If it’s good enough&worth the price.I’m open to anything that is first of its kind, addictive(sweets etc…) and unique. The only Gadsden snuff I have is the Wild Oak Butterscotch and I enjoy it :-bd Maybe try make cocoa/cinnamon Kona coffee/macadamia nut blend :-c Also that Evergreen blend but a candycorn(sweet) version.I would like to see that. Also if u can make that pakalolo(cannabis)scent made from the weed butter that would be killer \\m/ lol. Just keep me posted as I’m interested in trying out new snuff products& buying in bulk. Peace&Alohas :-c

P

I like Reese’s peanut butter cups. That might be a good scent if pulled off right.

S

@Michibacy Toque’s Berwick Brown has a pronounced ‘leather’ scent to my nose.  (And I freakin’ love it.)  I assume it comes from the tobacco base itself though, rather than some additive.  Just an FYI. :)>-

N

Maybe something along the lines of Butterfinger or chick-o-stick in toast form.
