Hello all I received my delivery of Gawith ‘Cola’ and Bernard Tabak ‘Brasil doubled fermented snuff’ and a member asked me to review the Brasil so I thought i’d review them both: I started with the Cola. Is there anything Poschl won’t put menthol in? I can taste a hint of cola but I got a much much stronger scent of menthol…I am not a fan of menthol as it usually plays havoc with my nose and throat but I will snuff the cola for a while and see what happens. The snuff is leaning towards the moist side so I had no irritation from snuffing it, the flavour lingers in the nose (in a similar fashion to Gawith Apricot) it is very sweet but as I mentioned earlier I am getting more menthol than sweetness. I have cleared my nose of any Cola and just took a pinch of the Brasil…the first smell I got was of fruit actually. The scent strongly reminds me of christmas pudding and also Latikia 1860 but the fruity aroma in the Brasil is stonger. The snuff is a rich brown colour and has a similar texture to Princes. I have not sneezed or had any nasal irritation from it. The nicotine content is fairly strong and after about 30 seconds the fruityness fades away and you are left with a nice tobacco flavour. I really enjoy this snuff and believe it would make an excellent ‘everyday’ snuff, particularly to ex-smokers" As a footnote I have just been informed via snuffstore.co.uk that Bernards no longer make snuff. The website I bought this snuff from only had 3 more boxes left in stock so alas it seems just when I really find a superb snuff they stop making it…doh!
