Anyone knows if coffee flavored snuffs has caffeine? I was wondering because when I wake up I dont know if I use a energy snuff or a coffee snuff. Im not drinking coffee for a while because when I drink it I need to smoke cigarettes and I quit smoking.
No caffiene in coffee snuffs, just the flavor… The best that I have tried is Samuel Gawith’s Black coffee, one of my favorites, definitly a must try… As a matter of fact, just took a pinch…
Would there be an effect if there was caffeine in it? Or would it work if I’d mix guarana powder into my snuff?
@otherwheres there most definitely would be an effect if there was caffeine in them. And yes, Guarana Seed Powder mixed in with snuff will give you a nice boost of energy but will affect the scent obviously. Just make sure you don’t mix any caffeine powder into snuff or snuff the caff powder directly, it is not good to get caffeine in your nose. So Guarana Seed powder/yes, Caffeine powder/no. I ordered some Guarana Seed powder from amazon and tried snuffing it directly, didn’t like it, the scent was like some sort of food seasoning and the energy boost from it was wayyy too strong for me, the recommended dose of pure Guarana is around 75-90mg per DAY, however mixing a small amount into snuff for an energy boost should be fine (I’m not a doctor, just telling you from personal experience).
If caffeine in the nose is not good for you, would that mean that adding finely ground coffee to a base snuff to flavor it would be a bad idea?
I think there is real coffee in Mentholin by De Kralingse. Good for energy and freshness too.
I tried some Toque Natural Toast with guarana and I think I’ll stay with drinking coffee or tea. It got a light rotten vegetable taste which I didn’t like. Maybe it would be better to mix the powder into something heavily perfumed to cancel the aroma out, I’m just not that desperate to consume caffeine nasally. Can’t say anything about any effects, it was just one small pinch and I was pretty tired all day.
Well, people would sometimes snuff coffee grounds in the Victorian era and before, there’s a direct reference to it in one of the stories by Charles Dickens. I thought I read somewhere that the caffeine in coffee wouldn’t work in the nose as it doesn;t travel into the system in the same way as nicotine.
@Kally_Huffs_Snuff I will PM you the website I bought it from. And your correct, it should be dark orange/light brown in color. If your in the UK I’m not sure if the website will ship there as it’s based in the US but you could check them out anyway if you want, they have all types of natural supplements and things, and they have the best price by a good margin out of all other sources I found for Guarana seed powder and I can attest to the potency and freshness of it when bought from them. @Gunnar no, adding coffee to snuff would be fine I assume because I’ve learned on this forum that people sometimes snuff ground coffee to get used to snuffing before they try it with tobacco. Also what @HR_pufnsnuff said.
is SG black coffee lots better than toqur espresso? if so i gota get some. i’ve “heard” people talk about it.
In my opinion SG Black Coffee is definitely the tops, though I have yet to try the offering from Abraxas - if I got through as much of that as I do Black Coffee it’d cost me a fortune!
Do any snuff manufacturers use coffee concentrates like the following one from Grady’s? gradyscoldbrew.com/gradys-cold-brew-32-oz-bottle/ I imagine that a bath in some of this concentrate would make a good tobacco leaf sing?
@Jim Grady’s is great as a beverage, but the chicory content is pretty bitter no matter how sweet you make it. I like chicory coffee like Cafe du Monde, but only with a good load of cream, real heavy cream, and some sugar or molasses. Otherwise it’s a tough one to choke down. There are some cold brewed coffee methods out there that I use for snuff and as a beverage. That way you can control the quality and freshness of the beans, the water and the ratio of coffee to water and the timing. This one works with some of your own personal tweaks: http://www.kitchentreaty.com/how-to-make-cold-brewed-iced-coffee-concentrate/ I double the coffee/water ratio and use 2 cups fresh ground coffee (coarse) to 4 cups bottled water. I also let it infuse for a full 48 hours so some of the oils come into play. I use the French press to extract all the oils and goodies and go to town. I also do the same thing with good quality 100 proof vodka, but that’s another chemistry class. B-)
@chefdaniel I have been looking for a cold brewing recipe. Looks great!!! So I am going to steal it…
@kally_huffs_snuff While I don’t do it any more, I used to mix it with regular snuff, once it is mixed you can not tell there is anything white, it will merely lighten up the mix. I don’t do it any more because there was no real use for tobacco to be diluted. It is by itself quite nice on the nose. Its like eating candy, with your nose, not to be confused with nose candy… I think it is white for a reason. Being, not all white powdery substances are illicit… I could be wrong. I know you can buy powdered caffeine, it says you should not smoke it, but nothing about snorting it.
While I love good (black) coffee, I’m afraid I don’t care for coffee snuff. Now a nice cup of decent black coffee and a few spoons full of WE is the bees knees. That’s my recipe for caffeine and nicotine.
