Coarse snuffs to try

Hey guys, could anybody please direct me to any coarse snuffs out there? Im coming to the end of a tin of neftobak which really grew on me though it maybe ought not have been so dry? Received a tin of SWS latakia blend and Marrakesh today.

Respect, Kieran

6 Photo Special is a really nice coarse snuff. Very perfumed, lots of scents and flavors going on. Nice nicotine hit. Check Mr.Snuff. Lots of other options including SNUV Black Eye, which is a lovely coffee snuff.

Nothing really comes close to Neftobak, especially in terms of “cut” and tobacco flavour, but if you like PLAIN, not silly-fine and not bone-dry snuff, there’s a couple more to try:

Ntsu Black
Samuel Gawith Silky Dark (definitely in 25g vac tin)
Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Plain
Bernard Gekachelter Virginie
Plain rappee*
Viking Scotch Dark
Viking Dark
Viking Brown

That’s pretty much a complete list, my friend.

*Plain rappee: either the one from Sheffield, sold with WoS Brunswick Black Rappee, M&W Black Rappee, Viking Dark Rappee and Toque Artisan Dark Rappee labels (same snuff with different names) or the one made by SWS - Aged Border Rappee. There’s also a relatively new one, made by German PfalzerLandSnuff manufacture - But Slinger Rappee.

If you are in the EU, you can procure cheap Burley whole leaf from Germany and make your own nefto.

Thank you both for these suggestions, i really appreciate it. Ill try some of these. Yes Neftobak is very different. I wish I’d gotten more of it when there. If i get the burley maybe I could cut it with some kind of grinder? Thanks again.

Use good old mortar and pestle, if you do. And 600 micron mesh sieve, or a tea mesh strainer. If my memory does not fail, according to Iceland’s tobacco law, at least 50% of tobacco grains must be not finer than 0.5 mm (500 micron).

Judging by pH, potassium carbonate - not less than 2% and not more than 4%. Salt - probably 2-3%. Water - about 30%. ATVR add a wee bit of ammonia, really small amount (most of ammonia in nefto is endogenous, i. e. tobacco’s own), you can skip it.
