Clandestine vs. Open Snuffing

Just curious . . . nasal snuff use is a rare thing to see in the general public these days. How many of us are low-profile snuffers (I do it, but I don’t want to have to explain it)? How many are open snuffers (look at me world! I’m snuffing, and you should too!)?

I snuff openly but not ostentatiously, I turn to the side. I usually use white snuffs in public as they give me less drip and it doesn’t look like I have anything in my nose and they wipe off of your face without smearing. I was using a tap-box at a bar and I think people thought I was doing coke, got some looks, but nobody said anything so whatever.

As with @horus92 I snuff openly but don’t make a performance out of it. I may get some people staring, and I am happy to answer any questions they have, but we shouldn’t have to feel afraid or ashamed. If anything, I feel eccentric.

I am quite happy to take a pinch in public. I’ve never had any comments, a few funny looks but I don’t mind that.

I could careless what people think. I use snuff where ever and when ever I want. I don’t put on a show in fact if someone looks at me sideways I just smile and offer them some

I never hide my snuffing and haven’t run into any problems.

im quite open. recently got asked to leave a taxi though… for snus. god knows what he wouldve done had i used snuff. some people are so closed minded. not sure what he thought it was…

@Firestarter0 that sucks man, didn’t you also get in trouble with a cop? You have bad luck with the mundanes!

@horus92 no, he just told me to get out, threatened cops if i didnt (i was trying to explain). ah well, his loss, i was putting it in because we were nearly at destination. only added 15 mins on my journey. to be honest he had the aggression of a coke fiend, so maybe he was nervous haha.

I am very open about it. I find it’s a good ice breaker though. I’ve also been told that I was pretty tough for my habit. It feels nice to talk to people about it. I haven’t actually talked to anyone who has had a problem with it yet. We’ll see if my opinion changes when/if it happens.

I was bringing a pinch of Toque Lime Toast (Yummm!) to my nose while on a plane, and the flight attendant informed me that “dipping” was not permitted on the aircraft. I was about to protest, but I decided not to make a show of it and simply take a pinch when nobody was looking.

I snuff openly, but I usually only use tap box schmalzers in public. They are convenient, LABELED(which is important just in case), and if anyone wants to try it as a beginner it should be no problem. My go to is Gletzcher Prise. As soon as I get home and/or settled at a friend’s, I go British snuff crazy.

@JohnnyFriday i think you misunderstand ‘schmalzer’. Gletscher Prise is just an oiled snuff.

When I feel like a pinch of snuff I take it wherever I am. I don’t make it obvious but I certainly do not hide it. But I do use coarse, dark snuffs so no one is likely to mistake it for anything dodgy.

I guess I was going on the “schmaltz” being an oil, and the snuff is oiled(and German). I never cared to go beyond that definition.

I flaunt it with pride.

The town I dwell in, noone would give it a 2nd thought…

When I’m out in public, unless I’m in a darken theater, I place the snuff on the back of my hand so that people won’t think I’m picking my nose, but no I don’t try to hide it

Clandestine. Even when I try and talk about it, I get dirty looks. (california and chicago)

It seems the only people I’ve run across that seem to have a problem with open snuffing are heavy marijuana smokers who worry about the “safety” of snuff, lol. And on the other end of the spectrum hardcore anti-tobacco activist types that refuse to believe my face is not going to rot from cancer in the next 5 mins. and claim that the “billion dollar snuff industry” is hiding cancer study data to the contrary. Most people don’t even seem to notice even if I’m pretty openly snuffing.
