Citrus Delight

I got this snuff in a box pass and I was pretty impressed with it. The snuff is medium brown and medium to finely ground. Moisture is medium-dry. Upon opening the tin I was greeted by a nice whiff of fine snuff dust that swirled into the air. I pushed the snuff around with my finger to find it very smooth and soft. The grind and moisture is similar (but slightly drier) than J&H Wilson’s SP No1. I truly enjoy a soft snuff like this as it’s easy to take and sits nicely in the nose. A sharp sniff will dust your throat if you’re not careful, but it’s not as fine as a US Scotch per se. The body in the nose is a bit heavy but I think this is due to the extra citrus flavor but it’s not cloying. It lingers well and like most snuffs it’s nicely enhanced by the outside air. Ok, now the taste… Delicious, IMO. My first impression is that the flavorings are similar to WoS Grand Cairo but the snuff itself is certainly softer. It’s almost got a toasted scent to it which is a nice change to most of my SPs. It’s got a flavor somewhere between Grand Cairo and IDHT 20. The heavy citrus flavor was very welcomed. It’s like a drenching rain in your nose. It’s not one that makes your nose run, but imagine the feeling you get when you are parched and someone hands you a nice tall glass of cold water. It’s very satisfying however the citrus is strong enough to overpower the base tobacco. There is also a note of milk chocolate in there. This too is nice and is subtle enough to compliment the citrus. I get little to no drip with this one either, or at least nothing unpleasant or bitter. All-in-all a very nice snuff and one worthy of looking for. I would order this one though I understand it’s a bit difficult to find. It’s a good SP with a stout but not sharp flavor and a nice soft feel. It might be enhanced by adding a bit of Toque Spanish Gem too.
