I am wanting to get a snuff with a very cigar tobacco note. I was wondering about the Braniff Caribbean/ Any other suggestions?
@Nachman, if you do find some, please let me know. I want cigar snuff too but using cigars to make snuff is not good enough. I believe the Braniff Carribean contains menthol? I’ve never smoked a menthol flavoured cigar!
Glad you told me about the menthol. That is out then.
I’ve checked again, Carribean is described as having a Vicks like menthol aroma which changes to a chocolate like taste?!!
I like the Molens 1880 latikia. It’s dark and smokey and reminds me of cigars. Also if you mix it half and half with a good toast thats not flavored (F and T toast, or W o S number 22 toast) it makes a wonderful warm toasty, smokey snuff.
I have the Molens Latakia, To me it is like English blend pipe tobacco.
@Nachman- The Braniff was a major disappointment, they ruined it with the menthol. I strangely found the cigar flavor in the latest batch of Fubar Grunt, it starts as chocolate and morphs into a fine cigar finish. It must be a batch variation. If you are in the states drop me a bmail note, I can send you a taste.
I’ll order some Grunt on my next order. thanks for the info.
I’ve read that some of the bernards that used to or maybe still do come in glass vials are very cigarish. I can’t vouch for them but. I’ve been meaning to get some.
The sternecker I have reminds me of a cigar. But I’m not the guy to ask about cigars.
Never heard of a flavoured or medicated cigar. Have you tried or considered, therefore, the plain snuffs by Samuel Gawith? These derive their pungency solely from unadulterated tobacco. (Only buy 25gr vacuum-sealed tins as contents are ruined in plastic tap-boxes.)
I’ve tried London Brown and Scotch black in the tins. They were nice, moist and earthy, but no cigar.
Nachman I have always thought that Toque Natural Toast has the smell of a fine unlit cigar
Moeda Special Rappee, Hollandse Bolongaro. Although I also like bundle Candela’s so take it with a grain of Rooster.
Dholakia Sparrow Green has a distinct cigar like note to it.
Far be it for me to disagree with Pieter, but I made some snuff from an Acid Blondie that tasted exactly like smoking the Blondie. It was good stuff! Unfortunately, far too expensive to make snuff from regularly.
FUBAR Grunt has a rich cigar flavour with a hint of coconut
Yes FUBAR is the very same tobacco as Sparrow.
There is a cigar snuff under ‘Chinese snuff’ on Mr Snuff’s site. Check that.
Seems like it would be very difficult to find a “cigar like snuff” as cigars have their own unique flavours. My thought would be a high class or expensive snuff that one would use on an occasion where a cigar would often be smoked. That is something I would be looking for. Not an every day snuff but a special occasion snuff.
