I searched the forums and there isn’t really a thread for this topic so I thought I’d start one. Other than Toque Xmas Pudding, and the Sam Gawith’s and Dholakia’s of the past few years, what are some particular snuffs you like around Christmas time? I ordered some DK Gingerbread already and am planning on acquiring the Toque Xmas Pudding if available. What styles do you like with say, some hot cocoa or spiced cider? What do you like after a Christmas dinner? This past year I just went with Toasts or Scotches, but my go to around the holidays was Samuel Gawith’s Kendal Brown Original.

I recently ground a cinnamon clove & aniseed snuff, that brought about a Festivus spicy feeling for me. I have always wanted to try the Xmas Pudding and chocolate from Toque…

T

Something in the XMas Pudding put me off when i recently tried it for the first time, so i have set it back to try again later. (However with Toque’s quality in hitting flavor profiles I want to be clear it is a preference of mine I am sure and not a defect of the snuff - hey, we can’t like them all … )

Bernard Weihnachtpris, I think it even has some little kiddies celebrating Christmas on the tapbox, smells like mincemeat pie.

M

Sounds good fellas, @lunecat that’s a great idea, should be an interesting mix. I checked MrSnuff after starting this thread and found a couple of Dholakia offerings such as Rose Chocolate and Plum Cake but both are only available in 8g tap boxes they state they are made only for Christmas.

T

I think Abraxas St Casura is a Christmas snuff, because it’s kind of orangey and chocolatey and reminds me of Christmas. So there.

F

McChrystals do a Christmas snuff that’s cinnamon based. It smells great but the spice gets my nose running like a tap.

N

SG Peppermint Dark reminds me of Christmas, it’s very candy caneish

J

I haven’t tried it, but plan to order a tin before the holidays… WoS Winter Warmer.

OM Solstice. Debuts December 5, 2014. Email for details.

I really like Toque Pumpkin Pie for the cold weather/ Holiday Season. It would be nice to see that available again.

M

@willc the Toque Pumpkin Pie was one I wanted to try, if made available soon I will order some before the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays.

I can’t wait to try this, I have some in my fridge I am waiting for a blizzard, so I can go out in the yard and look like the people on the front having fun playing in the snow… Maybe this weekend! @jim I also am ready to try this one, waiting in my fridge. I am loosing my taste for Wos lately but am hoping it is warming. @willc THAT sounds good!

G

Bernard Fichtennadel smells like spruce needles and is lovely, smells very Christmas-y to me and has very nice art on the tap box.

D

Toque Christmas pudding is very nice, but to me its predominantly clove, not what I associate with Christmas pudding as such, some thing with a mix of clove, cinnamon, mulled wine, maybe rich fruit… Mix that lot together with a touch of marzipan … Umm Though I guess everyone’s idea of Christmas aromas will be different

S

I order McChrystals Christmas snuff (Cinnamon but also Clove and a little menthol) every year when it comes out from the factory direcltly. Nice combination of smell when the christmas tree is in the room as well. Still have to make my order for this year, a bit late for my use, but it will be produced until half of january I believe.

S

WoS Royal George is very Christmassy to me

I

I see on Mr.Snuff that Sam Gawith has a new snuff “Christmas Pinch” which is pine essence & menthol. https://mrsnuff.com/product\\_info.php?products\\_id=3474

M

@Ivan I saw that one on the site, seems like one to try, just have to be selective in my ordering because of lack of funds lol.

D

@Ivan‌ “pine and Menthol” … a bit like Poschl Gletscherprise snuff perhaps ?

I

Maybe @Derek_007 but I was thinking it would be more like MdeK’s A/P or Bernard Fichtennadel, perhaps someone on here has actually tried it?

J

If it’s the same as the Christmas one they did a year or two back then it is similar to Fichtennadel, but coarser, not oiled and not as strongly flavoured. Christmas tree, rather than pine forest, if you like.

S

I really want to try Samuel Gawith Christmas Pinch if I can find it! It’s described as a Pine Menthol and sounds intriguing. Anyone know of a shop that has it? And will ship to the US?

J

I tried WoS Winter Warmer and wasn’t into it. I put a tin of the McChrystal’s Christmas in my next Mr. Snuff order and look forward to trying it.

I

@Shellbriar Mr. Snuff has it & they ship to the US of A.

S

Mr Snuff said it should be in Thursday!

M

Try the new SG Pine, it should be great. I still hace 1/2 a tin of last years SG “Xmas 2013”. I can’t describe it, but its like an English xmas cake, with lemony notes, and other yuletide spiciness. I wonder if Mr Snuff has any left over from last year. It isn’t on their website. I need to pay down my credit card before I can order again from them. I wish they took paypal.

C

Tried it. Didn’t care for it. See Marketplace.

J

I tried the McChrystals Special Christmas Cinnamon and it’s not bad. I have also been able to try Toque Xmas Pudding and it’s been the best of the three Christmas specific snuffs that I’ve tried. The Xmas Pudding is more complex than just clove for me. I get the clove, but it’s not as predominant for me as others have made it out to be. I also get ginger, orange peel, cinnamon stick, plum, and molasses. It has a nice dark fruit sweetness to me that does remind me of the holidays. I like it very much.

N

my experiences of Xmas snuffs: WoS winter warmer was out of focus somehow …chili? 1/5 pinches McCrystals Xmas cinnamon was mixed up with menthol and cinnamon… 2/5 Toques Xmas pudding is great but quite spiced up with clove 4.5/5 new nasal treat is definitely SG Xmas pinch. fluffy light brown turpentine smelling medicine! SG is the “mr natural” of the snuff makers! has the same feeling that I enjoy most in McCrystals OG …weightlesness and balance of aromatherapy… can I give 6/5?
