Christmas Pudding rant!

I gave this one 3 days of my time and only ended up enjoying it less and less. In the end I had a suspicious feeling I was starting to feel sick or out of place from it, like when you suspect a flu or a cold creeping in. Very dry and nutmeggy, very difficult to feel and sustain any nicotine satisfaction from it and also very difficult to sense it’s sent. It’s sent sort of came and went like a ghost. In the beginning I detected a lovely tobacco behind it all… but in the long run the whole thing became like an annoying ghost in my nose I kept chasing and feeling weird from in the process. Well… most of all I’m annoyed about the purchase. But it is what it is. I gave it an effort. On to the next snuff. PS: I suspect a medium grind Schmalzler version of this snuff would be worth trying though. If it only were thicker and juicier and more flavorful and nicotine heavy. That would be a Christmas Pudding worth its name and crown.

Some snuffs are good for prolongued usage, others for the occasional sniff. Xmas pudding (the snuff and the real thing) is a very nice treat, but I wouldn’t a full day of it, let alone three

Haha! You got me there! I guess you’re right.

I can so attest to this. You are so right. Well, you learn, huh. I just had a pinch of Xmas Pudding after a day without (back on my President horse) and that was a lot nicer. That random pinch of Xmas. Pretty enjoyable actually. I think this thread might as well be deleted.

The nose knows what it wants, and every nose is different. Just remember to not give up on a snuff that your first impression was not so good. Store it away and come back to it later. Really disliked Toque Spanish Gem when I first tried it, a few months later it is a favorite and one of the only scented types that sees regulars rotation. Happy snuffin’!

funny, I love xmas pudding. I get way more of an aroma of cloves and oranges from it than nutmeg. it’s a real treat for me, trying to go through the tin slowly so it lasts until xmas day

I just pulled a tin of this from storage the day before yesterday. Its been down there a couple of years, but when I opened it, it was still very fresh smelling. Hadn’t had any since last Christmas, so it was a nice revisit. I over indulged on it for a few hours and then had enough. I’m about to have a pinch of it now though. I agree its best suited to one or two pinches a day. That means this tin will probably last to about Thanksgiving. After that I’ll need to find another to carry me through the rest of the season.

@Nosemud - give that man a cookie! I hated Klostermischung at the first time. I felt some cheese and something more awful than this (I really don’t like cheese). Then I just didn’t like it. After one year and many many tries I could finally say - that’s wonderful snuff.

I do enjoy this several times a year, alas I have so many snuffs it is hard when I play favorites; to ignore so many great snuffs. I was a deprived child and I am making it up now in my second childhood, by spoiling myself

It has become my dessert… my after-dinner snuff… and as that it’s just beautiful. Actually it’s my most elegant and highly revered snuff I own. I send it many a flattering mental notes now. Just as long as I don’t ride it all day. But as a treat it is absolutely blissful.

I enjoy it year round but not everyday.

I too enjoy it year round, and mostly every day. I can’t get enough of it, but I do regulate my intake to keep it special and not burn out on it.

I do however want to keep it a Christmas holiday season thing. It will be my new snuff Christmas tradition. Just to keep it that special. However! I want to find a snuff that equals this for the rest of the year! Is there anything else on the market which is just as creamy and deliciously splendid? Is there anything else that goes along with a Caffe Latte just as well? Fine and creamy, filling the nose and just god awesomely delicious? Fit for a beautiful after dinner desert treat? Is there anything that can be compared with this snuff? Suggestions anyone? Edit: Maybe just a regular pudding? xD

SG Firedance? Definitely worth a try, and that was originally released as a Christmas snuff too

@Mario84 try WoS Winter Warmer and I second @50ft_trad witht he firedance, I love that one year round.

I don’t know about you guys, but I found Christmas Pudding to be soooo much more delicious and easy to snuff (consecutively even) this year. It wasn’t so dry and spicy and heavy on the spice particles this year. Just felt more creamy and more tobaccoey, but still rich in christmas pudding flavor. This from a 10 gram tin I bought! Now I’m gonna buy a 20 gram tin before December is over! Last day and last chance.
