Chewing Tobacco UK

S

I’ve got a real hankering for some Red Man chew. I had some many years ago but I can’t remember where I got it, either The Northerner or a trade from a pipe forum I used to be on. Does anyone know where I can get some, or would be willing to trade / help me get some?

Thanks

Stoker’s chewing tobacco can be procured from some German online stores.

C

Stoker’s Butternut is highly recommended. Stoker’s 24C is their attempt at Red Man, which has now been renamed “America’s Best”.

S

Thanks. Do you have any experience with any particular store?

Looks like shipping costs might be the barrier here.

P

Like these folks have said; Stoker’s. The current Levi Garrett leaf is good too if it’s available. Red Man does not exist, Americas Best Chew is the new name and it’s a new recipe. It’s anise dominant with a thin casing and at least 3 big stems in every chaw.

I believe the Red Man recipe can be found over at wholeleaftobacco.com. Which also happens to be a great place to source the leaf to make it. It is a very easy process.

If you want to go the DIY route, the free ebook provided here has quite a few recipes.

I haven’t ordered from this store.

S

€19.90 shipping! The good times are truly over.

I might have to settle for some British twist…

T

Meh, not so bad, chew it and then let it dry and stick it in a pipe like the 19th century miners did.

P

McGaheys have a loose British chew listed , but showing out of stock .

Not a bad spot for oral and smoking products , but their snuff is a nightmare so I’ve never ordered from them .

P

Since you put it that way; any medium to dark pressed German pipe tobacco with a casing would be a good chaw. There’s an odd German-American (American Dutch) pipe smoking custom where you cheek what’s left in your fingers and light the bole.
