Long day at work… My 5 month old son was not in the mood to go to bed… wife has been in better moods… I finally get a moment to myself as everyone else goes to sleep.
I make myself a good stiff Martini and bring out a couple of snuffs I’ve not tried yet… I chose cheese and bacon… and I ask…

Really have to try this…creation.
As I’ve said before on here, I LOVE the smokiness of it, but then the cheese kicks in. It’s not that it’s bad…it just lingers…and haunts you…cheeeseee…lurking behind every odor…
I kind of like it, it’s different, not my favorite, but, out of my Toque ten pack sampler, it’s one of a handful I might buy again.
LOL, I actually want to order a tin of Cheese and Bacon to give it a shot! Is it really that horrible? :-P .

@MikeMoose - if you really want to try it (and live in the US), PM me your mailing address and I’ll send you my (almost full) 25g. tin. I don’t hate Cheese and Bacon but it isn’t my style. Better in the tin than the nose IMO.
Mike I know. It’s horrible! I don’t understand why it’s one of our best sellers. I think it’s a Marmite snuff, you either love it or hate it.
In no way is it horrible.
It’s not a bad snuff, its just the aromas confuse me.
Its an experience for sure!

“Like” is a subjective word.
They tried to ram that stuff down my throat every breakfast in Cape Town.
They just spread the stuff on toast.
I always thought it was used as bullion for soup stock.
Marmite is okay, but I wouldn’t eat it all the time.
As for the aroma… no thanks.

I’ve gone through about 5g in two months. I love the start of the experience, and even the blast of cheese, the lingering is the only thing that drives me batty about it. If @Toque released a torment-free version, I would probably use it as one of my daily snuffs.

I love Cheese. Love cheese and bacon. Instead of toning it down, I’d rather see a Cheese & Bacon version 2.0 with twice as much flavor.

@jbruckus - :-) Toque could do a whole range - Cheese and Bacon Plus, Super Cheese and Bacon, Extra Strong Cheese and Bacon, Mega Cheese and Uber Bacon…!
I’d take Mega Bacon with Light Cheese…or just cheese that doesn’t over stay its welcome.

What about a few more savoury recipes? Pie and chips, steak and ale, full english breakfast? Then again, maybe not…
I always wanted @toque to get into tea flavourings.
For example Earl Grey, Lady Grey (my favorite), chai, and so on.
I LOVE ME MY C&B. Seriously this stuff is the best flavoured snuff I have had. Ties with Spanish Gem.
re earl grey the main flavour in earl gray tea is wate for it BERGAMOT so loads and loads of snuffs useing this as a base flavour

Cheese and bacon could become the next S.P. , i.e. Sort of like how Wilsons has like…20 versions with subtle differences. Cheese&Bacon Silver…Queens Extra Strong Cheese&Bacon…Tom Bacon…Irish High Toasted Bacon & cheese #22…etc…maybe a Cheese&Bacon Mentholated…ok maybe not…that would be going too far…hahah

It does grow on you if you give it a chance, (not because it’s rotten cheese,which some say it may be).
I do like it after a large meal or a big breakfast. It never sat well with me while I was drinking anything…just immediately after eating for some reason.
So I broke down and got a 25G tin of C&B and Im just not a fan. Ill keep it for a while and give it another shot, but it will probably be going up on the private trades thread soon,

You guys are a riot. I laughed real good at the Tom Bacon though . And @dazz34 : I never realized that… So bergamot is the main ingredient in Earl Grey you say. Makes sense why I love TB so much LOL .

@GreenGrass : Apparently it is one of Toque’s highest sellers . Toque makes some damn good snuffs, but the C&B is one I haven’t had the honor of tasting.
WAIT! What about a Jalapenos Cheese & Bacon?! ;-) . I’m sorry I just have an addiction to Jalapenos cheese :-D

Blah - It doesn’t sound good to me at all. I wouldn’t want to buy a tin - but I’d try it - shoot, I’ll try most anything at least once.

Just recieved a 10g tin of this today with my toque order. After reading some comments about how horrible it was (and the name made me curious also) figured I’d try it to see if it was as bad as its made out to be. I didn’t really like the initial taste/smell of it, but didn’t mind the cheese after taste/smell. Wouldn’t want to snuff it all day, but it wasn’t as bad as I was led to believe.
@OscarWabbit now there’s an idea. Marmite snuff! I just had some on a bologna and cheese sandwich about an hour ago.
Or maybe, just add some marmite to cheese & bacon for one of those high octane variants

I just got done cleaning up the vomit my 19 month old daughter sprayed everywhere about an hour ago. For some reason, toddlers seem to feel like they need to whip their heads back and forth while heaving. Anyway, there is a relevant point to this story. For dinner she had homemade Mac & Cheese and she had a bottle of toddler formula before bed. The regurgitated smell of this concoction is EXACTLY what the cheese linger of Cheese & Bacon snuff smells like. I just went from a love/hate relationship with it to a no-way-in-hell-is-that-going-in-my-nose-ever-again relationship with it. Sorry Roderick, my daughter ruined any hope that ever existed for a reorder. I hope she never barfs apricots or mentholated cherries. =/

While I’m a beer drinker normally, I do enjoy a well made manhattan, but I have to have it on the rocks. I refuse to drink anything out of a martini glass that isn’t a martini!!!
