Ok, so being as impatient as I am I was looking for a small but effective box to contain reasonably small amounts of snuff for daily usage. After looking at Mr Snuffs smash boxes I decided to try and find some that I could get hold of immediately or at least within 1 day (impatience), but some that were also pocket sized. More difficult than I thought! Anyway I found a couple of sites selling said boxes and was ready to place an order when I noticed my wife binning an empty tub of Nivea cream. This picture is obviously the larger tub, the ones I’m speaking of are around 25ml to be precise. These little things are fantastic! Air tight, leak proof, tiny. They are perfect and obviously inexpensive if your wife happens to use them! Elsewise, I believe there on offer quite often in Tesco at 3 for £3 but usually cost around £1.20. All they require is a quick wash, the labels pull off easily being plastic not paper, good airing and they are good to go! I’ve found they seem to hold the snuff quite well, moisture is kept and most importantly so is scent.
Just thought I’d share my small brainwave!
I see it is packed with my favorite F&T HDT. That should do you, until your wife buys you a Snuffbox
I can’t say enough positive about my PC wooden snuffbox. I see he’s out of the kind I bought (Tripletech, which comes with a slide for tapping, a slide for pinching, and a spot to hold an included snuff spoon) but I bet if you asked he’d be willing to make you one (well, I hope so anyway). http://woodensnuffbox.com/epages/3ec8ef5c-19c4-48bb-bcee-c5b4c8352361.sf/en\_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/3ec8ef5c-19c4-48bb-bcee-c5b4c8352361/Categories/S That said, that’s a nice find!
I have a small selection of snuff boxes, couple of wooden ones, a stainless one and a plastic one. However I wanted something a bit more disposable to allow me to carry several different snuffs around on different days without the added trouble of cleaning the box, waxing said wooden boxes etc. These are ideal for what I need!
Check out what Johnny dingo did. I like the shell belt with glass vials idea. https://snuffhouse.vanillaforums.com/discussion/6921/the-cheap-b-rds-guide-to-snuff-containment.
@basement_shaman that’s an amazing discussion! Thanks for showing me it. @lunecat they’re ideal too. I’ll be having a look at that later on!
I was looking for the thread with little luck, a Snuffhouse member cut the top off a large plastic bottle and glued on a bottom piece. He also did one with two bottle tops. to carry two different snuffs." Necessity is the mother of invention" Richard Franck
@vitellius great idea with the Nivea container! @basement_shaman I remember those threads you’re talking about! They were some of the first ones I read here on the forum when I was first getting into snuff! Remember the one with, I can’t remember the guy’s username but he’s been absent for a long time, but he had an armband, I think it was originally for holding shotgun shells on the stock of a shotgun, and he filled the slots with glass vials of snuff. I thought that was pretty funny and a novel idea. I’ve been using an empty 10g Toque NT container for my american scotches and for St. Casura, it works great.
@md363 Sing it now D I N G O ,D I N G O , D I N G O , Johnny_Dingo was his nameo.

I think Toque’s tins are easily one of the best. I have used a couple of empty ones as well, they’re very handy to have around!

I love to use the larger Toque screw top tins for travel- less worry about it opening and spilling. As for expedient, recycled or otherwise pocket tins- I have a recycled Makla container that is holding some SP, the small green topped bottle in the middle is a mini-sauce container I got at a at a ¥100 store (dollar store), the blue box some may recognize as an old Poschl tap box, the round container is another win at a ¥100 store where I got 10 for ¥105 (about $1.00), the gold box is a pill holder and turned out to leak like crazy so its empty, and lastly is a McChrystal’s tin that once held Smokers Blend and now takes whatever I happen to dump in so I have a quick supply for on the go. As you can see- nearly anything can be recycled or repurposed to hold our needed snuffs.
@basement_shaman that’s the guy!
I like these little o-ring seal test tubes. I got ten from a popular internet auction site for a couple of quid. I’ve colour coded them with electrical tape, and a couple will fit in that funny little jeans pocket very neatly. They hold a few good pinches, and keep the snuff nice and fresh, and tap out easily.
Now with working images…hopefully.
Those funny little jean pockets were originally made for pocket watches, funny how they still put them in when almost no one uses pocket watches anymore I’m one of the few people that uses them as intended.
funny little jean pocket That is where I have my SS Bottle of StCasura and my Pewter snuffbox of F&T HDT. Patrick Collins full of White Elephant goes in the left pocket,Rococo turn tin of TPS Madras in the right pocket, Shaman Hand heartbox of Kailash in my zippo holster on my belt, And the Toque Mini Flask filled with Toque Quit on my Keychain;Keys go in the right pocket the flask dangles in the wind easy to grab and go. These six boxes are still less expensive than one Sterling Silver authentic Snuff Box
empty snus and chew pucks here for snuff carry/// Just scored 19 off of ebay. That should do me for a while/ >-)
@n9inchnails I hope they never stop putting those “funny little pockets” on jeans and bibs… On the left 21 jewel model 940 Hamilton 18s and on the right 21 jewel model 992B 16s stamped “us govt”.
The cigar-shaped Rosinski refills are good for boxcar snuffers, they hold 8gm, and they come already filled with excellent snuff.
oh, here’s a pic:
