it is an extremely fine grid and quite dry. i had no problems taking it which is very suprizing considering its my first time taking a pinch of a scotch. it smells like a forest fire a sweet smell having been a fire fighter for six years i enjoy the smell of it. overall a 4 out of 5 it will be in a future order when i feel im in the mood of it. happy snuffing
