Thank you for the detailed response. Depending upon the heat and duration of the “toasting”, that would decarb the herb, although perhaps too much? I’ll have to do some research, but I’m assuming that CBD is similar to THC as it requires heat to activate it (actually turning the native THCA (acid) into THC). Of course this happens spontaneously if the herb is smoked.
From my research (based on Israeli studies as the US is stupid), the max potency of THC is reached at 250 degrees. Anything over this starts reducing the potency. I personally decarb at 240 F for an hour to make my wife’s medicinal infused coconut oil.
I suppose an experiment would be to try mixing some plain Madras snuff with a little infused coconut oil (organic refined is what I prefer for little to no coconut flavor). I’m not sure how this would dry for a comfortably “snuffable” product.
I think I also have a little tincture in the freezer, basically decarbed herb soaking in 180 proof ethanol. That might work better as the alcohol will basically evaporate after mixing in some snuff.
Perhaps I’ll find the ambition to try this and report back.
PS I do have a tin of McChrystal’s Hemp in my Mr. Snuff cart for the next order, just to try it.
