So, my Kendal Brown tin has a loose top, it’s not a screw top like Toque. Anyone got ideas on securing it? I don’t want it to open in my pocket. I was thinking electrical tape maybe?

If you don’t want to get a box or bullet or anything, I think the electrical tape is a good idea.  I have electrical tape on all of my tins in an effort to keep my snuff fresh (I know the thing to do is to decant into airtight glass jars, but I think the tins are cool and am reluctant to store that many glass jars).  Anyway, I think it’s good stuff to use, and the same piece can be used over and over.

I purchased screw top glass bottles and tins from Specialty Bottle for better storage.  That way any snuff I want to carry with me is in a well sealed container.

If you tape it around the lid you have to take it off every time and the glue gets on your fingers then you have to figure where you’re going to rest the tape. So just tape across the top of the lid and over the side. you only have to loosen up about a inch of tape  to open the lid. fold the end of the tape to make a tab for ease of removal.

@paN1k, I agree with @basement_shaman. when it comes to tape ( which is not ideal ) I use a three inch long piece of special white masking tape ( used in television production ), over the top and just open from one side. this tape isn’t as sticky as electrical tape, so no residue, but doesn’t last a long time before you need to refresh it.
I use this when carrying around the 35 gram tin of white elephant ( which I do a lot )…
it’s actually kind of crazy but funny to whip this little can out at work.
my other forms of carrying snuff is in Old Mill screw tins, after I decant the original snuff into glass…

I actually save and re-purpose my old Toque tins.

There are some wooden snuff boxes I bought from a member on here around 2008. If you are talking a normal KB and not F&T’s which is very fine then that kind of box would work well. It holds a lot of snuff because it’s designed for shmalzers and other coarse snuffs. It has a wide opening to fill and then you dispense by pulling a dowel back enough to reveal an opening to pour from. They’re pretty good for this kind of snuff. You should be able to find something similar. Other people like regular wooden snuffboxes. There was another member here onefortheroad and he made beautiful tiny boxes from beautiful woods. The craftsmanship was perfect on them. If you like to pinch and don’t mind refilling often those are super nice boxes if you can find one. Eventually he sold his through some of the normal snuff retail stores. I’ve been away from this site but maybe the two kinds of boxes I mentioned are still being made. One thing is for sure, carrying snuffs in most tins they come in is a bad idea.

The best carrying packaging is from snuifmolens and Toque. Snuifmolens (@snuffmiller) has great boxes with a sort of simple sieve in the opening that gives you a nice dispensing action and Toque’s tins screw on securely. Aside from F&T tins which are too big to carry in a pocket usually the other tins are real risky to carry. Eventually you will make yourself a snuff cloud, sometimes even if you use them on a table.

@Roderick Just ordered 2 of the new Toque keychain flasks for my buddy and I who I corrupted, I mean introduced to this wonderful world of snuff. He’s hooked already. It’s awesome to share this hobby with somebody and offer and be offered snuff. We are bringing others into it at the office now, too. Not sure they’ll bite like us, but still quite a lot of fun.

Antique silver snuff box. My favorite metal for tobacco. Many on the internet. Some are considerably better. Or if you use extra powdery dry snuff the heartmagic boxes are great for a great price.
