Anyone know where I could get ahold of a snuff spoon with a large capacity? Every spoon I can find just doesn’t hold enough. The best I’ve found is 1/16th tsp measuring spoon (a little big, admittedly), but the shape of the measuring spoons makes it hard to snuff from. I’m a “big honkin’ pinch” kind of guy, but sometimes would like to use a spoon that’s big enough to get job done for me. My next route might be whittling one myself.

@apvonkanel Have you tried a demitasse spoon? I use one to measure snuffs that I’m mixing, but haven’t taken snuff from it. It might work for you.

A pipe tool usually has a large-ish spoon attachment.

I went through this challenge once. Spoons were either too large or too small. Most things sold online labeled as snuff spoons are in fact cocaine spoons (too small) and salt spoons (too large) or caviar spoons (also too large). However, patience pays off and my best luck was on ebay. You may have to try different search words other than “snuff spoon.” You can try searching for the other types of spoons listed above, or even simply “little spoon” or “small spoon”. Be creative. The important thing is the size or the bowl, not what it calls itself. I found two that I am very happy with. The smaller has a bowl of about 1 cm diameter. Good for most snuffs. The larger is about 1/2 inch diameter, good for schmalzler, heavy moist snuffs and for transferring snuffs from one container to another. In the picture: the second from the left and the fourth from the left are the ones I’m talking about.

Where did you get #'s 2 and 4? 4 specifically seems like an ideal size.

No, I just take huge pinches. As a teacher, I can’t just grab a pinch whenever I want, I have to wait until after class, IF I have enough time before the next class comes in, so maybe 3-4 times during the school day. I aim to make it work, so giant doses gets the job done.

Also, while the snuff bill isn’t massive, the snuff BEAK is pretty large.

I use the spoon of my czech pipe tool, the poker and the tamper I still use for my pipes (never used the spoon for that though) pipe tools are insanely cheap (around 2€) and most tobacco shops carry them, plus the tear shape allows to measure really well, close to the point for a small dose or body full for a headblower pinch!. Next to a Poschl tap box for comparison because I don´t have one of the new snuffhouse snuffboxes 8-|

You might want to think about using the boxcar method… Your “snuff spoon” is your thumbnail.

I boxcar frequently, but I use a spoon between classes as a brown spot on my hands is sure to elicit a bunch of giggles from 7th and 8th grade kids

That spoons my wife use it for skin care creams (actually didn’t use it, she use fingertips), so first time i saw them, i know what is going to use it for… hehehe >:)

I went ahead and got the large snuff spoon that @basement_shaman suggested, and it’s much larger than I thought. It’s actually pretty great. Thanks for the tip! It has a slight curve, making it easier to snuff from (as opposed to the 1/8 and 1/16tsp measuring spoons, whose bowls were too steep to make snuffing easy), very reminiscent of similarly shaped ice cream scoops.

I find that a table spoon works just fine :)) But seriously I use the little snuff spoons sent free by MrSnuff in my orders.I used some old micro screwdrivers and attached the spoon to them so they actually have a nice handle.I tend to do 2 spoons in each nostril tho as they really arent big enough to satisfy me.

Multiple small portions would be fine, but during the weekdays I’m working with a very short window (probably about 30 seconds) between when I dismiss one class and kids from the next period start trickling in.
