Hi guys and girls, I have problem again that I can’t smell Toque Flavors :*( Such as Raspberry, Coke, Toffee…But I have noticed that I can smell it by holding my very front of nose with my fingers…but all time holding my nose that would be strange So someone have same prob. as me ? I want to hear some suggestions of u all

T

Are you using bullets? When I first tried Toque i was using bullets and had much the same experience. If so, simply decant your snuff into larger containers. Otherwise, I don’t really know what to say - Raspberry and Coke in particular have very distinctive aromas, perhaps look at your snuffing techinque?

U

Nope, I’m not using bullets. Technique is same as usual take a pinch, warm it, take it. amm…can it help to put snuff in larger tin ?

X

It might need to be fluffed up a bit. They come pretty tightly packed in their tins.

N

Most likely your Toque is stale and has lost most of its flavour.

U

I really don’t want to believe that my Snuff is stale Maybe Xander is right they were very packed up

T

Yes, that was the trouble I had with the bullets, there was so much snuff in them. Definitely try fluffing the snuff up. @n(: Roderick wouldn’t send out stale snuff, I’m absolutely positive of that.

B

@toffeenose I’am sure he will if you ask nicely. Otherwise not a chance.

T

@bob: LOL!

U

I’ve never been a heavy smoker and nope I never broken my nose ;D but there have been occasions when I’ve got some punch to my nose, but nothing serious

S

I had a similar problem if i snuff inside I can barely smell my snuff, if I walk outside its like it all opens up. don’t know if its just the fresh country air here in the rural u.s or what but try that. works for me.

T

Sometimes I get this- just NO sense of smell at all. That usually changes when I go outside or change temperatures for some reason…

M

The olfactory sense adapts very quickly…for instance if you smell something terrible, it won’t be noticeable at all after some time. The same occurs for pleasant odors, as well. One thing to keep in mind.

B

what matsnuffs said, One of the resons i love menthol is it never fades, is always a strong whiff.

J

I’ve had similar issues, and yes- fresh air helps it. I just wanted to add to what matsnuffs said that sometimes if you are using the same snuff for a period of time you won’t get as strong a scent as when you first used it, I guess its because your nose is used to the scent. For example, when i take my first pinch of Whiskey and Honey in the morning is the best tasting and most flavorful pinch and all pinches following that seem to have slightly less and less flavor as the day goes on. Maybe its the snuff airing out and losing flavor too but I think your sense of smell becomes used to a smell and then it doesnt register as strongly as it initially did. Sort of like…walking into a room that has a certain strong smell (say potpouri or a scented candle), it seems strong or annoying at first but after a while you don’t even notice it - until you leave for a bit and then return - and there it is again. I’m sure we’ve all had experiences like that. Its one reason I rotate snuffs rather often.

M

I love taking a pinch of something awesome like Tom Buck, and going outside to grab the mail. The smell is incredible when you step outside and take a breathe of fresh air. Love it

T

@mikemoose I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I do that everyday!

E

It’s definitely incredible how fresh air makes the flavor more enhanced. Too bad my lasy ass stays in too much.

B

This reminds me of a business Idea I had of canning air in Mason Jars…maybe right after you cut the grass, or near a muddy, raging creek after a rain, or in the kitchen frying chicken,… capture those specific scents for people who can then open the jar and experience it at their liesure. Don’t laugh…Bob will be selling these as my business partner, as soon as I clear this with him. I think getting away from smoking and NetiPot slowly brought my sense of smell back, Unicorn.

C

Getting away from the neti pot or using a neti pot?

T

He probably meant getting away from smoking and USING a Neti Pot

B

Yes…sorry, using a Neti. Some days are better than others. Cooler days I can detect smells much better.

J

I used to have the same problem when I first started snuffing. Have you found your technique yet? If you take a large pinch, do you get some nicotine effect? I used to use Toque as a guide, especially the pomegranate flavor. If I used them correctly, I could smell them. If you’re sure about your technique, then it’s probably the snuff. Toque has some great scents and they’re even better in the nose.

U

matsnuffs: When I first tried Toque snuff I barely felt the flavor (so my nose didn’t adapt) ;D jbruckus: In the mornings if I take first pinch there is no difference or there is but barely Bart: Thanks God I don’t smoke and I will try Neti Pot definitely !!! jazzi_mike: Again (Technique is same as usual take a pinch, warm it, take it.) I have no idea what other technique I can use, this is the easiest way I think and I’m happy with it, but only problem is that I can’t smell Flavor properly :*( Oh yea if I go outside I can’t fell snuff =D I can feel only fresh air but again ( if I hold my front of nose with fingers wonderful flavor hits in my nose) I really don’t know why it’s happening to me I hope that one wonderful day I will smell all kind of Snuff properly (Sorry, English is not my native language)

U

And one more thing…I actually can smell flavor of my fingers, but when snuff is in my nose it disappears O.o

T

@UnicornU: perhaps you are taking the snuff too far into your nose and not letting the snuff sit in your nostrils? Maybe if you sniff it gently so it stays in your nostrils you might find some flavour?

U

I really tried it before, very, very gently sniffing it but no difference And now I tried to use Neti Pot, well…I want to say that It helps. I will use it more often and will see if I can smell flavor better and better

P

With me it depends on how much smoke and other snuffs I have in my nose. Also I got a tin of Spanish Gem yesterday and tried it after smoking and taking other snuff. Needless to say I didn’t get much of the flavour. I tried it later after it had naturally aired a bit and found it to be very good.

J

its been over a year and a half i believe after my stupid descision to sniff 3/4 of 25g tin of snuff and my nose has allmost unnoticably improved.
